Default When will I start feeling better?

Ughhhh - I am so sick of this nasty "medical" taste in my mouth. I am so very sore, especially on my left side. I had my surgery on 3/22/11 and I know I shouldn't ask for miracles, but just feeling better would help...

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

My surgery was 3/24/2011 and I am also still experiencing some discomfort on the left side of my stomach. I went for my 2 week checkup today and he said its because that is where they put the biggest piece of equipment and do the most work and it will get better, just takes time. I get to go back to work Monday and was also able to start soft foods.

Hope you feel better soon, just take it easy.

It took me a few weeks to feel better. So, what you feel is not fun, but normal. Hang in there. (check out my blog posts if you want more of the play-by-play that I had throughout this journey).

I am a little over 2 weeks out and my side hurts if I twist the wrong way. I think its just normal recovery.

Thank you all for your support. I am glad to know I am not the lone ranger in all of this. My side hurting was really starting to worry me. Sometimes it feels like I am being stabbed if I turn the wrong way at the wrong time. I usually have a pretty high pain tolerance. Not now.

I will get some of the breath mints and give it a shot. I am an easy puker and even though I haven't "yet", the taste in my mouth puts me on edge.

Anyone else have this "medical" smell I am talking about? I feel like it is coming out of my skin. I returned to work last week and a girl I work with said it was probably the anesthesia (sp) still in my body - could that be true? If so, what can I do to flush it out - it is YUCK!!!

More likely, it's from the ketones in your system--do a search for ketosis on the details--- so getting in a lot of water to flush it out is the best way to deal with it.

Yes, the left sided pain. I sleep on my left side and it was weeks before I could after the surgery. Try putting a pillow, small pillow under your side at night, that will help. I went back to work 12 days after my surgery and was fine during the day, just pain at night. It will definately get better and it is SO worth it!
