Thumbs down Glucose Crash

I had two episodes of relative hypoglycemia this weekend. I've been type 2 diabetic for 10 years, and only recently with the assistance of weight loss surgery did my doctor took me off medication.

On Friday, I had a bit too much to eat. Just vegetable and protein, no carbohydrate. I felt the overate effect for a couple of hours, and just continue to do what I did. 3 hours after that dinner, I started to feel extremely cold and other symptoms. I immediately did a glucose reading and it came back 73, which for me is very low (i'm usually range between 90 and 100). I ate a sugar free fudge bar and latte, and stabilize myself.

On Sunday, I have more soup than what I should. 2 hours later, slightly different symptom, hot flash. The glucose reading came back 78, also a bit low for me.

In my 10 years as diabetic, I can only recall one episode of hypoglycemia, and this weekend, I had two. I know, I shouldn't over eat. But it's odd that it only happens after them.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Check out the discussion in the following following thread.

Also, next time you have an episode, make sure you get in BOTH protein and something carb to raise and stabilize your glucose level.
