Default 5th day post op

Turned out to be way harder and painful than I had anticipated but after 4 days in hospital I am glad to be home.

Having such a difficult time getting all my protein in and water. Energy is very low and pain is still live and present.

I have a cold as well so that has to be part of the aggravation.

How is everyone else doing?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Glad you are doing better, my friend. I was concerned when I hadn't heard from you in a couple of days, after initially hearing from you post-op. We got this, girl!!!

Yes, we got this. I truly regreted all this up until 3 days in. The psych part is really challenging. Today, I am not regretting this a bit and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Hru?

I'm doing great. Finally got rid of all the fluid they put in me while in the hospital. The doc said they were going to put about 15 pounds of fluid in me throughout the stay, and by golly, I think they did!! My fingers looked like little sausages!!! But, my skin never felt so soft, LOL. As of this morning I was only 1 pound above my surgery date weight, so the water/fluid came (or is coming) off well. Tummy makes alot of loud grumbling noises when I eat, and shortly after, its funny. Almost sounds like hunger noises, but I know its not. Found a few things that I can't "stomach" too well right now, with plain water being one of them. Thank goodness for Mi0 and Crystal Light. Ready to go get these staples out, my belly itches soooooo bad!!! I wipe the incisions with alcohol which helps.
Can't wait until I get to "one-derland" and you will be right behind me!!!

No kidding! I was hospitalized for 4.5 days and liter after liter of IV fluids. I am grateful cause I would not have been able to keep hydrated on my own. I peed most of it out yesterday and felt much lighter this morning. I am down 2lbs from preop weight. My mom says my face is thinning out already LOL!

I don't have staples anywhere on my incisions. I have a nice heftly hole where my JP drain used to be. I am just covering that one with a 2x2 gauze and silk tape and its healing nicely. The other 6 lap sites, are sutured with dermabond (surgical glue) over them. I wash and pat dry them and put a little triple antibiotic.

I can't believe we are on the losers bench! Yay us

That first week even 2 are very tough and the energy is still not totally back for me at 6 weeks but.. I have lost close to 40 pounds look and feel like a new person, the set backs are all worth it. FYI dont be suprised if you dont have a BM for a few days either..... your body is in shock and needs time to reset itself. Hang in there you will have no regrets!!!!!

FOrgot to say... worry more about the water than the protien right now. Staying hydrated is really hard and really important.
