I am still very sore.. and am trying to figure out how in the world we are suppose to drink and drink and eat every 2 hrs like they say. I am struggling with that and I am just very tired.. but I cant seem to sleep more than 20 minutes at a time. in the am when I am suppose to get up I am sleeping for 3 hrs. but that is the most of my sleeping. I feel like I am being full on my meds and the water.. ouch.. theres no room for all of it.
anyone else having this problem? also, roughly how long does it take for the tender stomach to go away. I feel like I did 1000 situps and it hurts to move. I mean I can. and I am off pain meds since I am takin care of my kids. but wow, it was a little more than I exepcted.. I spent one day in the hospital crying in pain. I felt like I was a drug addict.. I couldnt get any relief! Im better now. just lack of energy and hard to drink.. any suggestions?

Congratulations on joining the Losers' Bench.
Yes, the first couple of weeks are rough, especially the first few days. It should start getting a little bit better in a day or two.
Just keep a water bottle by your side and sip sip sip.
It will be difficult to make the daily quota during the first week, so, don't worry if you don't reach that goal every day. Just make sure you get in as much as you can. You should be able to meed the daily quota by the end of the second week.
(((HUGS)))

| Can you get a couple of hours a day "off" from kids? Is there anyone who could help you? This is the time when you are the most tired and the most achie, achy?achie?? You need to rest and sip through out the day. I tried to eat every 2 - 3 hours. A Tablespoon of yogurt...broth, sugar free ice pop... I just did it. Day by day it does get better. Keep a water bottle by your side and every time you inhal take a sip. Sounds silly but just keep sippin' to get the fluids in. Good luck! Hang in there.

I am 10 days out and felling much better since they took the drain out yesterday. I tried going off my pain meds on day 4 too and so have others I've spoken with. All I can say is for me, it was a BIG mistake. Cutting back may be the better solution. 3 a day has worked well for me. I don't feel all groggy all the time and yet I'm not in a great deal of pain either. As to getting it all in, what I did and am still doing is to start first thing in the morning and sip all the way till bed time. Rather than a set schedual, I would do like 6oz servings of everything; coffee, shake, juice, cream of wheat, hot tea, water, juice, broth, tea, shake, jello, pedia-pop, & water. I takes me all day long to get all these in, but if I just sip my way through I can do it and it has worked well for me for 10 days now. FYI Pedia Pops are great for dehydration. On day 5 I struggled through the day and didn't nap, sinc then I have been sleeping (mostly)straight through the night. Like I said this is just what has worked for me so far, everyone is different so it's mostly trial and error to find what is going to work for you, but you sound like you are right where I was on day 4 and it is rough so I'll say a prayer for you.

Thank you all for your comments and kind words. I am definately hurting today. I believe I moved to quickly at one point when I had to go snap on some kids. kids and myself was not a good combo today! hoping tomorrow will be better. I know they say get up and move and its completely exhausting. I know this sounds horrible. but I have not washed my hair all week cause its to much work. ( I have showered) just not hair. my hair os to the middle of my back and I finally brushed it out and my arms were sooo sore and drained afterwards.. I feel like a week little girl lol I normally am a very strong chic. my friends woul dmake fun of me because they would struggle and I would walk over and just pick up the tv or a/c and be like OMG superwoman! lol so, this tiredness and weakness is strange to me. anyway.. enough rambling. I am hopging tomorrow will be a better day. no more crying and moving quickly.. oh and OMG.. I do not reccommend crying... its very very painful. first I was crying because I was upset. then I was crying cause it hurt so bad to cry.. lol bad bad day. ok.. again thank you for all your kind words. atleast I have people here who can understand and support my journey!

I am day 4 as well. I feel nauseous and the smell of food cooking makes me feel sick, like when I was pregnant... I can't believe I am not hungry and right now I don't care if I ever eat again. I just keep sipping on water (must be ice cold or I gag) and hope that I will feel better tomorrow.

| I am new to the web site and I am just had my surgery on 2/22/12. I am still a bit sore from my stomach and my back is killing me. I don't know if the back pain has anything to do with the surgery but it isn't comfortable. I just hope to get back to feeling no pain. I haven't been hungry but I keep my protein and liquids going all day long. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you feel better soon. Are you taking your vitamins? I make sure I take them beause my frined who had her surgery a month ago was feeling the same way you are and she wasn't taking her vitamins. Hope you are able to get some rest soon!

| Things will get better with each passing day. Just get as much water & food in as you can, don't force it if you feel like you really can't get it down. In time you will be able to add more in. Be careful chasing around after the kiddos, you don't want to overdo it at this point, not sure how old they are but don't be picking them up. Let others help you out if possible. Take care and hang in there. |
