| Mood swings
I have read from a lot of you that you have mood swings after surgery. If this is true, I don't know how much more my family or I can handle. LOL Any suggestions, anyone? I have been in quite a mood today and can't really figure out what's bothering me, just seems like everything. I really don't like days like today!

well, its true for some of us, others just seem to breeze thru it. i get them bad, the last one was worse than i have ever experienced to be honest. my suggestion would be pay close attnetion to your moods and what not pre-op because post op it will be magnified.

Im Ms. Cranky Pants right now but I know its due to TOM right now. I have been in a better mood I feel since surgery since it has changed my life around and I have such a great outlook and feel so much healhier. But I do know alot of others do have some mood things going on. Everyone is different.

| RE: moods - I was on HRT pre-op so post op I did notice some differences - just started my new hormones today (a patch this time) and today wasnt my best day - I understand the patch has a lower dose but is constantly distributed, so anywho! I'm curious to see how it does over a week or two! I have bought a few items to encourage me clothes-wise and today I had to wear an old pants and old blouse - even though they are really big on me I feel fat! ugh! better do laundry so tomorrow I'll feel perkier! LOL

The estrogen that was made/stored in your fat will be released as you lose weight, and that can give you a tough time.
Also, the loss of food as comfort can give you a hard time.
Sometimes, pre op counceling and therapy helps a lot there, so if feel that things are out of kilters already, then you may want to look into it.

I have gone manic to depressed and now I am manic again. My co-workers and family are aware of this and just remind me when I am "not normal". I am more manic and elated since I can move and feel a lot better. Monitor yourself and explain to your family what might happen. My doctor told me when I get depressed instead of giving in to it go for a walk even if it is only 10 minutes.
