Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Do you mean something like this?
It's gotten buried deep, but could be of use.

Profiles are kind of a tricky thing. Lots of folks dealing with WLS have a challenge be too public with pics or info posted on the web until they have had some substantial progress. I even get emails from people askingif it is mandatory to post profiles and pics.

We just have to keep in mind that we are all on very personal journeys.

The good new is that vbulletin allows for profiles built right in.

Janae, I so love where you heart is at... Thanks for the input.

you know it is so funny to me about how paranoid I was even 3-6 months ago about letting people know how much I weighed and such, but it seems like lately I can't stop telling people. I guess that it is partly due to when people act like I don't need it, or the fact that when I do lose the weight, I want them to know exactly how far I have come to begin with. I am definately going to wear out my digital camera taking pre-op pics since I figure that the more I take, the better chance I have of a couple I like showing up. I love the digital camera with being able to delete so easily. I guess that I am mostly looking for people to at least tell me male or female sometimes, or pre or post or curious. I guess that what you say makes a lot of sense though, I just get bored lately since my surgery date is fast approaching and I am trying to waste tiime.....hehehe. Sorry if any newbies are annoyed by my overexuberance at wanting to know all.

Lightbulb

While you're at it, I would like a few more smilies for the text
Lemme see, first off, a wolf whistle for all the wonderful pics members are posting, a thumbs up or a V sign, and a light bulb...oh, and a boot kick, as well

OK, seriously. The responses to my tricks our brain play on us post has got me thinking.
Is there a software or a site that enables you to project how you might look after considerable weight loss from one's pre op pics? So many seem to be having trouble accepting the person they see in the mirror now, I thought if there was a way to visualize how you could look post op, it might help you by "teaching" your brains who you could be. It also could be a good incentive to keep on track...I'm gonna be like that!

I don't mean the resizing you can do with common photo editing softwares. With those, you just resize sidewise (or lengthwise) and you don't get the proprtion change, if you can understand what I mean.
Your bone structures don't change, and you lose mostly your fat, and your proportion changes. With your faces, the top part doesn't change that much. It's the lower half, from just above your ears to your cheeks and chin, neck, that changes drastically. With the torso, women will get a waistline and a sassy figure, men will get shoulders, waistline and good looking hips...you can't see that kind of change by just resizing the pics the conventional way.
One idea would be to be able to edit your face, then plunk the face on size 16, 14, 10 figures...I'm not sure of men's sizes, 40, 38, or what? just S, M, L?

You see why I need a light bulb here.

Oh Doc! That would be so cool! i would love to see what i'd look like smaller. That would really help with motivation while i'm waiting for my surgery date. Probably even help during my weight loss period. Is this possible craig? I know that when you watch something like most wanted they show computer generated pictures of what somebody they are looking for may look like 10 - 15 years later. It would be so cool to be able to do this.

Craig -
it's already been mentioned but not addressed, i know your really busy but is there a way to take a current picture and change it to show you what you would look like at certain weight loss numbers?
I know i've seen tv do advancements in age so maybe this is possible. Just thought i'd ask again. That would be really helpful to pre-ops like me who are getting impatient for their surgery date. New Post-ops might like it too?
