| Vertical Sleeve Area and Info
I see you have areas for the rouhNY and for the Lapban. But nothing for the sleeve?
I myself thought this site was just for people that have had the RouhNY, because I didn't see any info on the sleeve.
I think as time goes by, more and more people will be getting the sleeve, than even the rouhNY. It might be of benefit to your readers to have an area and info on the sleeve as well.
Just a suggestion....

I had the sleeve done, and I hang out with the cool RNY folks. There are some differences in conversation, but the issues, emotions and physical concerns are pretty similar. You're right, the sleeve is the up and coming WLS, but in comparison the numbers of folks having that surgery is pretty small. Join Us

I'm not saying the RHY folks aren't cool! They ARE! They're the reason I wanted to join this forum. I see a lot of wonderful info here, that I don't see in other forums.
But there is no info here that pertains to just the sleeve. And we do have different issues to deal with than the RNY folks do.
When I first stumbled on this forum, I thought it was just for RNY folks. So I joined a different forum that is just for the sleeve.
But I think it would be in Renewed Reflection's best interests if they also made an area for us sleeved folks. And I try to read everything I can on the sleeve. I just think it would make this forum even better than it is.
And yes, the RNY is very popular. But the sleeve is catching up....

This site started in 2005. VSG was still very new at that time, and was starting to be done in Europe, but not much in the US. The numbers rose only in the past 2-3 years. That's why we don't have a section yet. I agree it's time we start something, so I'll discuss this with CraigT and Michael.
In the meanwhile, while the physical aspects often differ with the type of surgery, the discipline and the emotional/mental adjustments that one has to go through are pretty much the same.

Great idea! I'm a RNYer but my DH is scheduled to get the sleeve done next month. If the sleeve had been a choice 4 years ago that's what I would have had done. Even now, my DH had to be very insistent that he wanted the sleeve and not something else. The surgeon's staff all told my DH that he didn't do sleeves. Since he's my surgen too, I sent him an e-mail asking "why?" and he said, "who told you I don't do sleeves? Sure I do.".

My hubby had the sleeve, and I had the Roux en Y. There are some differences post surgery, but the emotional aspect and diet is the same. I am a member of the sleeve website for my husband, but between you and I, this site is SOOOO much better. I do think adding more about the sleeve is a great idea though.
