Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

this place is great, also, there are surgeons who will offer freee seminars and some hospitals will do the same. That is where i made my decision, call some surgeons and find out who offers them.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.

Do a lot of search and research, not only here, but other boards, too.

Now, some points to think through for you.
1) Are you happy with your present weight?
2) Are you happy with your present health?
3) Are happy with how you are able to move about now?
4) Are you happy with how you look now?
Start by asking these questions to yourself.

((((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

ultimately, the decision is yours....read ALL you can here and base your answer on knowledge from those who have been through it....are you having health problems....how much can your life be improved and what will you gain from surgery?

Everyone here who had surgery will personally tell you they don't regret a moment of it! Welcome aboard...let us know what other questions you have!

I remember about 2 years ago my gyno suggested I "do whatever I had to do to get the weight off', I've been going to him since I was a teenager and he's very sweet, but I still went "what???...THE NERVE!" It was another 6 - 8 months before I even started thinking about surgery - I was in denial - I couldn't possibly be a person who needs WLS! But I was still heavy, if not heavier, nothing was working and I was very unhappy, not to mention starting to have health problems. So I went to my primary with the first thoughts and he gave me a surgons number who specialized in WLS. The good part was this surgeon doesn't even see you untill you attend his monthly seminar (which actually made me mad at the time because I thought - Geez, I have to wait?!?!) But you go and see up front what it's all about instead of talking and talking and talking. Then the ball starts to roll. You have to be ready to even think about it before you can go any further. So, think about it, ask all the questions Doc and the other ladies said to ask yourself. Then start researching, online and find a seminar. That book "weight loss surgery for dummies" was very informative and did hit topics like "are you a candidate for WLS". Don't freak, just start listening to your heart, it will start to give you direction. Good luck - you'll be ok.

This is a major decision - I thought about this surgery longer than I thought about having kids!!!! For me, when I knew all the good things this surgery does for you, all the bad things that can happen post-op, complications of surgery, etc and was totally at peace with the whole thing, I knew I was ready. Best wishes to you - let us know any questions, etc. Good luck
