| WLS Mentor | i know this has been dealt with before (at least i think it has, but i can't remember) but after surgery is it better to use extended release pills or the other immediate release?

| Super Moderator | Extended release is meant to dissolve slowly in the stomach. If you have bypass surgery, you should take immediate release type medication because you have only a small pouch instead of your entire stomach, and the extended releases can irritate your pouch, but always confirm with your surgeon and PCP.

Height: | that is a good question. I don't remember it being asked and never would have thought that the answer would have been to take the immediate release. Thanks for the information you two. Janae |
