Hi Everyone, I was wondering how much is too much fat before you dump off of it. Like I know about 12g of sugar is my limit, but I am not sure on fat. Just want to get some numbers. Thanks. |

heres my experience. i have no idea LOL. if its deep fried, i dump. if i use butter, i dump. i use to dump off peanut butter REALLY BAD. a serving of full fat PB is 2 tbsp. which contains 18 g of fat. made me sick as a dog. 1/2 that i was ok but still felt icky. i use reduced fat pb now and am fine. i hate to say it but i think you are going to have to test the waters a bit on this one. unless doc has stats on the fat, im thinking its more individual than the sugar data. |

No, I have not seen any stats around. Sugar, carbs, yes, it's said to be 6-8gs at minimum. Fat, it probably will depend on what form you get it in, as well as the total amount, so just like everything else, it's trial and error.

Hey, I have been told that after surgery to go with no more than 10gms of sugar per 100gms and no more than 5gms of fat per 100gms. I hope this helps |

not everyone dumps off of fat. I eat a higher fat diet and believe me that extra fat that isn't getting absorbed just passes on through..you know what I mean? Alli be damned lol!

I'm thinking that some of my 'dumping' (my red face) had something to do with fat because the protein bars I had were very low in sugar (1 or 2g) and like 10 or 11g of fat. Then there were meals with no sugar that got me red. I think my body is adapting too because my face barely turned color at all last week. It only happened at work though, not if I ate the same food at home. Still baffled about that one, but it does seem to be all trial and error. I feel like I wasted lots of money on trial and error, especially with protein stuff, but now that I found something perfect, it was SO worth it!

I got sick off peanut butter early out too and now only do the reduced fat peanut butter in very small amounts. Also, I can't eat lasagna even though I made it with the lowest fat cheeses and meats I could find. 3 bites and I'm done! I don't "dump" but I'll get the worst pains and feel so miserable for at least a half hour. Then the rest of the day I have to deal with grouch pouchy. My notes say to keep the fat under 5 grams per serving. I don't watch as closely anymore; I've gotten more tolerant and like Bree says, what's not absorbed passes right on through. But I'm very cautious about fatty foods if I'm eating out. |
