Question Hot Dogs?

ok i have the worst craving for a burnt hotdog LOL! i bought some all beef ones BUT im looking at the nutritional info and it doesnt look good.

1 dog is 180 cals, 16g fat , 3 carbs, 2 sugars, and 6g protein. now i know i can only eat one anyways, but is it worth it?? i might dump off the fat....?

i guess im confused about good choices vs. "in moderation" this would not be something i would eat daily, but im confused as to whether or not this should be on my sometimes list or never list. anyone have any insight?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You won't know if you'll dump, unless you actually eat one. I have eaten a hot dog on a bun, mustard and relish, and it did not bother me. But it may bother you. That's one thing you can predict about WLS, the same food does not affect every RNY patient the same. I'd suggest eating one at home, just in case though.

yes i know we're all different. i am SUPER different. i dump off fat. but im ok with sugars. so i figure since this is somewhat "high" in fat i might not feel too good after wards. and i DEFINITELY try new foods at home lol!

i guess my question is, is this a "good" food? im lost with this new way of eating...

Well Of Course Hot Dogs Are Not The Healthiest Source Of Protein But I See Nothing Wrong With Having One Once In A While. Thats What Moderation Is All About. Its Not Like You Will Eat It Everyday. Try It Hun

Have you tasted it? I was craving a hot dog, I buy the Oscar Meyer Lite beef, way less fat, and it was NASTY. This is the same hotdogs I have bought for 10 years! It's amazing, before WLS a hotdog, chips and a coke were cheap typical Saturday lunch and now, uh, No.

Fast food--hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken--aren't *good* for you. Too fatty, too salty.
Somebody said in another thread that her surgeon says "closer to the farm" which is an excellent description. The close to the farm, the better food it is.
Hot dogs are processed meat-- closer to the factory rather than the farm.

Moderation means amount, good choice means what kind.
