Doc please help me with this. (I do have a call into surgeon's office) Had my surgery on 2/13/08. Weighed 216 surgery date. One week check up I was down to 205. Had to have 2 bags of iv fluid that day. Two weeks down to 202 and another 2 bags of iv fluid. Three weeks no fluid but I am bouncing between 202 and 200. Is this normal? Shouldn't the scale be dropping? I am eating protien (fish or chicken) no carbs. Water or crystal light to dring. Now am up to 40-50 oz liquids a day. So why am I not loosing anything? I am very discouraged right now. Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on your weight loss so far, you are doing very nicely. Your body is still recovering and still repairng the intrusion from surgery. Besides, you had very serious dehydration that you need IV fluids, not just once, but twice. Your body is still trying to catch up, and still trying to rehydrate the places that lost water. Your scale won't start moving until you are fully hydrated to the very last cell in your body. In the meanwhile, your inches should be falling, aren't your clothes a bit looser than before? In anycase, what you are going through is quite normal for where you are at, right now. (((((HUGS)))))

You are doing fine, you just hit a stall, I hit one at about the same time and it gets very frustrating, hang in there it will start to come off. I know it seems like when we do this we want the weight to fall off, but it will over time.

Thanks to both Doc and you Tammy! I was just nervous because my post op instructions say to call immediately if you stop loosing weight in the first month so I was nervous about it. I will be more patient and try to drink more.
