Hi 5 days post op, laproscopic, only 3 small slits, and 1 drainage hole, not many problems, doing real good, but today I noticed that the incision that he did most of his work through has been leaking - this is the only incision that hurts when I roll over in the bed or try to get up, well now, I feel wet there, and my jogging pants are stained, clear, I think, and don't really see anything, but know that it is leaking, should I worry?

I leaked out of one after I had been on my feet and doing too much. I put butterfly bandages across it and took it easy for a couple of days...if you are leaking a lot, call your surgeon!!!

I was about a month post op and the site where I had the drain busted loose and drained enough to saok my nightgown in an area about the size of a saucer. Scared me to death, called my surgeon and he said it was not that unusual from the drain site. (which is the on that hurt on the left). If you are worried though you should call your doc.

Call your surgeon and make sure, but if the leak is clear, not bloody, or milky yellow, or have a foul odor, then it's just your incision healing, so you probably won't need to worry about it. You do need to keep in mind that incisions, however small, it cut all the way through your skin and abominal wall, into your abdominal cavity so it is as deep as, sometimes, if the incision is only half an inch or so, then, it'd deeper than, the size of the scar on the surface, so it takes that much longer to completely heal. You need at least 2-3 weeks before it's completely closed, so take things easy, even if the surface seems to be closed.

i had one that leaked too, as long as it is clear i dont think u have to worry. the one of mine that leaked was very stubborn!! i had steri strips on it for what seemed like ever!! i think it was finally healed up at my 3 month visit

Thank you all for your help... It is clear, but slightly pinkish.. It is running. I tried to put a steri strip on it last night and then called the Doctor on call, he said not to steri strip it he didn't want to seal it at this time, but just to put a bandage or band aid on it like we did for the drain.. so I took off the steri strip and put a band aid on it...then I called the doctor today, he said that if it is pouring out, I should go in, if it is just leaking slowly like the drain incision was, then I could wait till my 2 week post op appointment on Monday, so I will keep an eye on it. Thank you for all of your help, it makes me feel better to know that their are other people who have been through these things.

Even though it was so bad I needed to put a pad in my bra. Everyone makes a diff amt of seroma I think its called.
