Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | omg you guys, this thread from ms vickie is scaring the daylights out of me. As of lately, I always clean my plate! I wonder if I am eating too much! Fitday says I eat between 650-850 per day, but gosh I dont know! I am only 3 months out and I always finish my plate. Take yesterday, for example...we were out all day Breakfast at restraunt..1/4 egg white omelet with cheddar cheese slice and 1/2 slice whole wheat toast Lunch at restraunt...1/4 grilled chicken breast on 1/2 slice wheat bread, 1 slice tomoato with 1/2 slice melted provolone, 1 tbsp of potato salad Dinner at restraunt..2 pieces of grilled shrimp, 1 tbsp corn, 1.5 oz grilled filet mignon, 1 tbsp refried beans Protein drink at some point as well I always put just a little of each thing on my plate from my husband's plate..but I always finish.. Now, I am only 3 months out..should I be MAKING SURE I eat less even if I can fit what you see above?? There is nothing scarier to me than the possibility of halting my weight loss! NOTHING!! |

| Super Moderator | I think you are eating just right. Now, the thing to do is to put no more than you can eat on your plate, so if you do that, and then clean up your plate that's fine. What's not fine is taking less than you can eat, then going for seconds, as that will warp your sense of the total amount you ate.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I'm with you, qt -- it varies from day to day. Also, depends on what I'm eating. When I eat oatmeal, it slides a bit so I eat 1 package of instant. When I eat cottage cheese, it slides less, so I eat less. When I eat meat, I get in the least amount. I clean my plate about 1/2 the time, just tune into how you feel. Looks like you're doing awesome. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | First Off I Think Your Day Of Eating Is Excellent!!!!!!!!! If You Eat Too Little You Will Stop The Wt Loss Because Your Body Will Think Its Starving And Hold On To Its On Fat. Your Putting The Perfect Amount On Your Plate So There Is Nothing Wrong With Finishing That Amount. |

| I agree. It's not a bad thing to "clean your plate" if what's on your plate is the right food and the right amounts to begin with.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I think "cleaning your plate" doesn't really count when you are measuring out your food. Now if you get a normal plate from a resturaunt and ate the whole thing that may be different! |
