It may have to do with the number of hits we are getting, and server space. I've noticed it getting slow for the past week or so, and the number of people online being almost constantly over 100, some times over 150, so this may have something to do with it.

It's gotten faster as we speak. The server may have rebooted itself--according to Michael's explanation (I got this a while back) this takes place when the site slows down.

It's probably the limited server size. One way to fix it is to update servers, but that's not very inexpensive. The wait is minimal compared to problems on other sites. On one site, their stupid animated advertising stops your typing, and skips down the page. Then you have to scroll up to where you left off and start typing again.
