Just wondering about the stats about how much weight the stats say you will loose. Does the numbers include the weight you lost pre-op also? Should I add in those numbers to get the percentage?

Thanks!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Sorry I got a phone call at the same time and was trying to type and talk...it is obvious I cannot do both lol. Anyway....Doc says the stats say you will lose 50-70% of your body fat so does this include weight lost pre-op also?

I am only 7 weeks post-op and have hanging skin so I know there will several pounds of weight in just skin...YUCK! So to obtain a goal weight is kind of hard.

Good question, I really don't know if the statistics for weight loss (ie: how much you loose once you've had it) include what you lost prior, since it may actually have to do with new pouch and all that. Doc should know.

Remember One Thing Hun There Is No Solid Black And White Answer To How Much You Will Lose Since Everyone Is Sooooo Different. But Doc Will Give Your The Percentage Range Of What The Average Person Usually Loses. So Are In That Range, Some Are More And Some Are Less. Just Stick To The Program For Now Hun

The stats that are around now probably don't include the weight lost prior to surgery, the reason being, it's fairly recently that surgeons started to ask for some amount of pre op weight loss before surgery.
As official stats go, it's at least a few to several years before such things can be calculated and analyzed.
Also, these stats will have to be taken under a set condition, it can't be arbitrary. So, starting with the weigh in immediately before surgery is the best point, as the weight loss pre op can be through different methods--liquid diets, just a requirement of losing 10% through whatever method the patient chooses etc--which will make the conditions arbitrary from the start.
