Default TOPIC: girl scout cookies

Ladies,I have read all the threads about the dreaded girl scout cookies. I did not have any of the beauties come to sell me any this year,Pshweh!!!!! So, yesterday my daughter and I are in the mall, and ....dun,dun,dun..... girl scouts selling cookies and my daughter wants some, which is ok for her she is 6'2" and 145lbs.(yes she is really 6"2"). Anyway, we stop and the one lady says "where are the 100 cal. cookies i heard about?", I perk up and listen,...... they make a 100 cal . cookie???????? well. yes they do. I was not a sweet eater as a prob. before but once in a while something with my coffee was nice. They r called cinna-spins 100 cals.,0 transfat,2 g fat,19g carbs.,1g prot.,6 gs.sugar, and the best part is they come in little individual pacs in the box so u just eat one pack not the whole box. What do you all think about those? I did buy a box....... Kathy

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I think anything that helps us keep on track, and makes life easier is a plus. Not to be eaten in excess, but as a treat once in a while seems OK by me. I look at it this way, It's better than having a candy bar, right?

If you're prone to dumping, and with 6 gr of sugar per cookie, be careful. My surgeon recommended to try to stay at 5 gr or less of sugar. So don't eat the whole pack. Have one cookie, and see if anything "happens" as a result.

I believe it is 6g sugar per serving which is one pack, my nutritionist told me not to go crazy with the number 5g of sugar one or two grams may not have any affect. But I do agree to try one first and see how you do...

She spoke of a 100 calorie cookie, and then put down the rest of the facts, listing 100 calories, 6 grams of sugar....So I assumed it was one cookie. I haven't seen the pack. Normally nutritional facts are based on one serving, and I just assumed one serving was the one cookie, from the lead in sentence. The fine print on the package holds the full truth.

CINNA-SPINS nutritional facts.
It says serving size 15 cookies so, one cookie contains 1/15 of 6g sugar, so 0.4g per cookie, 6.6 kcal per cookie.

If the initial poster had been complete in the nutrional data, it would have been a short thread. Thanks for clarifying Doc. I haven't even thought of a Girl Scout cookie since surgery.

I havnt seen any yet around here. I love those caramel ones with the little bits of Coconut. I dont remember the names but I could enhale a whole box of them things in one day. This I will say is the only cookie I ever eat. Yep I said only one. The ones in the purple box. I hope to escape there wrath this year. Now if the hubby comes accross them im in trouble.

Sounds great -- we didn't have those in our girl scout district here, but we did have the sugar free chocolate chips which are pretty good. the interesting thing I've found, is back to our conversation on moderation -- you can have some of the girl scout cookies offered if you have just three cookies -- and with our new little pouches, three is plenty! But you do have to pick the ones lower in sugar. I personally like the All Abouts best -- shortbread with a little layer of chocolate. Nummy!
