Unhappy Um...slowed down ALREADY?????

Hey everyone.
Ok. I KNOW it took ages to get this weight on and that it wont magically disappear overnight, BUT, I am 10 days post op, and my weight has slowly gone from nearly 2.4lbs or so in a 24hr period, down to 1/2 lb!
I thought this was the rapid weightloss time? I also assumed it went on for about a month or so (give or take a week)?
I do have TOM, but I havent really retained water as this would happen in the lead up not half way through.

I have been more active and have been on the treadmill 25mins at a time, for 2kms, a good steady pace, but not enough to overdo it just yet.

I dont understand. Am I expecting too much? I really didnt think so, I expect to lose double what I have so far (in the first month), but do stalls happen this early?

ARGH!! Please help!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thanks Kath! It just freaked me out the last couple of days with the numbers getting smaller and smaller and then this morning only 200grams! lol I even had a very paranoid moment where I thought that maybe the surgeon didnt give me a pouch, that he somehow made it smaller with dissolveable stitches which have gone and my old stomach is back! Im hungry (not head hungry, real hungry) and I can eat, I havent felt sick with any food so far (luck?) etc...paranoid lmao

Deep breathe!
Ok, scales are being put away for a few days.
*breaks out in a cold sweat* 'I can do this...put the scales down and slowly back away'....lol

Have a little patience, it's only been a week. Start to exercise now if at all possible. It helps you lose weight and helps "move things around" so you can make deposits at the porcelain bank. If troubles occur, daily regimine of stool softeners will help too.

I'm confused. YOu said you thought you were suppose to lose double what you have in the first month. Are you saying you thought you would lose 70 pounds in the first month?

Thanks Dave, I have been on the treadmill everyday since monday, started off real slow, and built up to a good pace as the pain has gone. I have a thing called kiwicrush which helps in the other department... lol It works well.
Im just stunned that this has happened already! esp with not cheating and all that, been very good with my food intake.
I just seem to be able to eat more at one sitting now. im up to about 30mls, but yesterday I actually ate a whole banana (it was small about 3in long). I ate slowly, and put it down but didnt feel full or uncomfortable or anything, and next thing I knew, the whole thing was gone! freaked me right out.

After an initial gain post-op and after a week or so home, I stalled for 2 weeks. It started up again. Sometimes it goes faster and then there's days it barely moves, if at all. You still LOST weight, so at least it's going in the right direction - but at it's own speed! You're doing great!!! Keep it up!

LeeLee,

Im one of the few on here that dont own a scale to weigh myself on. Its been the best thing I could have ever done for myself. My hubby has offered many times to buy one and even had one in the buggy on day shopping and I asked he put it back. It would be such a downer for me to weigh and think enough isnt comming off fast enough. TOM will make you retain even though you think your not. Its natural. Your body will also go though a time to where its catching up. You wont see a loss during that time either even thou you will be losing inches. I cant tell you the number of times I have logged in and seen a post stating just that.

So give the scale a break for a couple weeks then step on. You will like the results much better than what your seeing daily I promise. Be good to yourself thoughout this.

no, no, I thought maybe 10kgs in the first month which is about 22lbs all up. I lost weight on the pre-op, I have lost 13lbs so far (which I am sooo happy with!), but if this is my first stall, I dont know what is going to happen, no one that I have spoken to over here has had a stall in the first 2wks..!
I was aiming for 22lbs in the first month. I know I panicked a little early! lol

had a thought though, with the pre-op diet, I lost some weight, coupled with the 13lbs so far post op, maybe my body is having an adjustment period as I have lost just under 22lbs since 26feb, so maybe I AM due for a stall??

I just want to do everything right. I am so upbeat about having this surgery, I am feeling really good (except for a bit of tiredness). I dont want to muck anything up, and if I am doing something wrong, I want to correct it.
