Exclamation Eating After Surgery

OK! I'm 42 days out from surgery.

My stupid question's are.

1-)Does anyone look at food and go EWW, and it just turn your stomach, looking at it, even sweets?

I'm hungry BUT! I go get something, and MOST of the time I want to puke, at the site.

Most of the time I drink my water, that’s it. I know I have to eat, that I DO!!! Know. But the thought of food makes me want to puke.

This past weekend was the most, I have really eaten since my surgery.

I wanted something to eat last night, and I got me some chocolate pudding SUGAR FREE of curse, and I had 1 tea spoon and I wanted to puke.

I made a fat free cheese and 95% fat free ham quesadia (how ever you spell it) and it taste like crap to me. My doggie loves me since I had this surgery she is getting everything I cant eat.

Wes is going crazy worrying about me, he goes want me to make you a ham sandwich, no I cant eat it I will get sick, and I don’t like puking I have like 4 time's in the last 3 weeks and nope, I don’t like doing that.

2-) But I was wondering if this a faze, or if this is how its going to be, and I just have to deal with it and get use to it.

I'm fine with my water, and my little bites here and there, but I look at food and I want to get sick.

Wes got a cinn, muffin from Mc Donald’s, Saturday morning, and I had to stand out side the van the smell of it made me sick, that might be why my food didn’t settle and I puked 8 exits up the road.

3-)So if anyone knows what’s going on let me know please. Its making me MAD.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

(((HUG))))BECCA....
yes i was very very PICKY early out about food which
amazed me some cause never in my life was I like that.
I had to stick with my few same foods that i ate religously...
in time it passed.
I made very finely chopped chicken salad alot, pinto and cheese from taco bell, actually ate the purees often they sat best for me early out were u are. I would try foods but they wouldnt sit right.....i hated the smell of most foods ...I did eat! ALOT of protein puddings from GNC...shakes when i just couldnt do regular foods.
I stuck with the soft stuff and seemed to do best and took my time getting back on more solid forms of eating
hang in there!
i still concern if u have any stricture going on ...i know you must have
your surgeon informed of your food issues???

Thanks Lisa

The dr told me when i was there last, when i go 6 weeks out start trying soild food, well i have been, and not doing to good with the MEATS!!!! AT ALL. Ham, and seafood is all i can do.

Its just food it self, its hard for me to cook dinner for Wes when he comes home, i cant stand the smell.

Today i put a whole chicken on the stove to boil, then i am making, some soup, and with the rest i'm taking it off the bone and taking the fat off and putting BQ sause, on it and going to bake it, Wes loves it.

But it has taken me all day to fine the guts to go do it, and i just got done and i'm sick at my tummy.

I love my soups i make, and i just dont know whats wrong.
I have been wanting water mellon all weekend, and still today, so i will have Wes stop and buy me one.

Hmmm. I know this sounds like a really offhand observation, but it sounds so much like morning sickness during early pregnancy...now, I'm pretty sure that there are no medical/scientific studies to substantiate this, but you have got me wondering if the messed around hormones due to the rapid weightloss may have something to do with this.
Just a thought, but some food for thought.

Question

Doc, I dont know what it is.

This morning i'm right now trying to eat some scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, slice of toast. ITS NOT WORKING!!!

I'm so sick at my tummy, from the site of the food it looks like raw eggs. LOLOL

Sorry i'm everyone sick. Last night i got my water mellon, and i had some everything went down just fine.

Maybe my mind is shut off to food right now, because of the surgery, and it will take time to get it back.

I can eat crackers, some baked chips, fruits, seafood, ham is not working today.

I tried to have some chicken broth yesterday NOPE it came back up. I tryied a scrambled egg by its self nope couldnt go down. Didnt like it.

I called to talk to the dr, and he never calls me back, they really care i feel sooooo loved.

HEY BECCA glad your keeping your doctors office informed! YET im sorry they arent calling you back! thats stinky. WHEN do you return?
BUT you got to keep your protein up some way some how.
I strongly recommend maybe for you the STALLONE PROTEIN
puddings if the shakes arent good for your tastebuds right now.
I know food wasnt appealing for me that stage ...but i knew
FOR my healing and good health i needed to get protein in.

GOT to keep trying till you find a good protein product!!!!
I even enjoy, still do, the HOOD CARB COUNTDOWN CHOCOLATE MILK..
oops they just changed its name...... to calorie countdown but its still the same great product lo in carbs, with some protein and calories arent bad either... here is a link for it....:

Calorie Countdown

JUST trying to help!

Thanks, Lisa

I'm trying real hard to get the protein, in with the shakes.
But its hard. Right now the Cal's i'm not worried about it, because i'm not eating much to worry about them.

I had some water mellon this am it went down fine, and i had my meds, after.

So i will work on getting in the protein. Like i have been.
Gosh i hope doc is NOT right about the hormones being messed up making me think i'm pregant, NO WAY!!!

I have been fixed anyway. LOL So my mind is messing with me.

No, I don't mean you are pregnant. Just that the issue and symptoms you are having with food sound somewhat similar to morning sickness. Which started me wondering if these issues could partly be blamed on your momentarily wacky hormones. Wacky hormonse can be at the root of a lot of things like mood swings, headaches and dizziness. So many of you have pretty bad PMS as well. So, why shouldn't it not cause issues with food like the smell making you sick, and such?

I know whatcha ment, i didint say you thought i was pregant LOL. I understand that the mind/body can play trick's on you, and your body does crazy things.

I was saying i hope its not my hormones going crazy, because i had 3 kids and the morning sickness was nasty LOL I dont want to relive that again. the morning sickness that is. LOLOLOL> Our bodys are crazy, 1 little thing will mess you up.

And to think about it some of is like when i had Matt. I was sick to look at the tv at food.

So i guess i need to give it time and go on my new meds the dr (my other dr) put me on for my depression, maybe that will help me out.

I have been putting it off cause its the liquid form, and i have been upset at my tummy, i didint want to have to puke it up, but today right now i will go get my tea spoon and give it the 2 weeks it takes to get in my system, and go from there.

Lisa I dont see my dr untill Aug 20ish something. The frist time was June 17th, then he said see me back in Aug.
And he told me at 6-7 weeks out do soilds and i can go back to simi-normail life. And that was it.

Hey Becca you are not alone. There are many times that I think about eating and would rather bang my head against a brick wall. Unfortunately for me I also don't have a desire to drink sometimes. Sometimes I have the foamies so bad that I feel like if I drink it will all come up. I have found that I do better with my drinking and don't have that issue much if I go and work out. It is weird but sometimes when I don't feel good in the morning and don't know if I can make it to the gym okay...if I go it USUALLY makes me feel better and I am able to drink plenty during my workout and right after. I hate cooking right now cuz it makes me wanna yak too for the most part. Huggs to ya babes. I know how you feel.
