Red face couple of questions thats all

march 19th I will be 8 months out of sugery I have a crazy question on what I can eat in amount to feel fullness and ability to drink.

When I drink I do NOT galp but i am able to drink more in quantity then a sip

Q. is this bad will this stretch my pouch

I can eat 2 hard boiled eggs and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese before feeling fullness

Q. is this bad will this stretch my pouch or better yet is my pouch stretched because i am able to consume this much

I think I have become a bit lazy with my rules so im just trying to get my butt back in gear and get the rest of this weight of and gone for every.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I don't sip much anymore either...but I can't gulp...it's like I have a hard time swallowing too much...

I also find I can eat more in quantity....I think the pouch stretches some, but if you are kind to it along the way and don't stray too far from the plan, I don't think we will EVER be able to eat like we used to! I ate a whole piece of pizza last weekend (it was small)...crust and all....and I'm 8 months out today....!

Ashely, you sound pretty normal to me. Not too much, not too little, just the right amount. As you get further out from surgery, the swelling in the pouch will go down, and along with that, the pouch will recover its natural flexibility. So, it will be able to accomodate food better. Since your pouch tells you when it's full, never ever try to get in more than that.
Think back how much you ate in one sitting pre op--that is how much your stomach was able to hold pre op, compared to that what you can eat at one sitting is what, one-fifth? One-tenth? Or even less?
You're doing fine, since it's warmer, I hope you'll be able to get in lots of horseback riding exercise.

thanks doc this makes me feel good

I have got a little of track i think that stress had a lot to do with it but i am doing much better know and i am trying to just focus on me and getting the rest of my weight of. I really have found that I have to stay focused on posting and reading the post on RR to keep myself going strong

My biggest hurdle at this point is going to be breaking my grazing habit but i am going to take it one day at a time today being the first day it is only 1:00 but i am doing well. the test will be when i get to work. so i have packed my lunch and a s/f pudding if i feel the urge to snack and a protein shakes so here is wishing me luck

Ash, I deal with the grazing issue too. I eat probably 90% of my food at work coz when I get home I'm so busy it's a non issue. Preping your snacks and taking healthy choices is a good strategy too. Good luck!

Hi Ashley glad to hear from you. I am pretty close to you in stats, from beginning almost the same ,surg. a month apart and about the same weight loss!!!! Does that make us feel good??? lol I dont know I feel the same things you do (and Kath), grazing is a factor, i am an avid coffee drinker but can only sip at it for the most part and I guess what I am trying to say is I am a bit "off" feeling too. I am glad Doc ans. us daily and I will not leave this site so I agree with you there that I need to log in as often as every day if poss. So we are not alone and that is a good feeling and we just support each other and realize that the pouch is a tool and tools cant lay alone they have to be utalized. There I am done babbling,bye-now!!! Kathy

I can be a grazer to, so to stop the habit I set an eating schedule. I know, its a little severe but it works for me. So here's what I do.

9:00 breakfast
12:00 lunch
3:00 snack
6:00 dinner
9:00 snack

I make myself wait to eat until I get to the designated time or very close. Sometimes I watch the clock and I'm hungry, ready to eat. But it makes me eat enough at each setting to feel full, not just take a bite or 2 the an hour of so later eat a little more. and it makes me drink more since I am buying time by filling my pouch with a drink.

Lately I haven't been able to stick to the schedule becuase I don't feel like eating, but to get back on track, I'm going back to my schedule. I guess I need the routine.
