Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | hello everyone! i'm doing so much better now' i have just a little pain left i feel back to my old self sorta speak. i still take it easy i don't push myself" i still can't take in all of my liquid but i do try. did anyone surgeon tell them to drink 250cc per hour.i told him it isn't no way i can get all of that in i don't even try' i just do the best i can to get in my protein and water. i know it will get better with time i'm still on full liquid and loving it' to tell the truth i will be scared to try real food" i'm so scared to dump and scared my pouch wont like food......cause in the morning it dont like protein drinks or water it sorta feels upset and gassy...lol so i will try to eat something warm like soup' it just seems not to really like anything to tell the truth. but i will keep trying the milk in my protein drink i think upset my pouch alot i'm praying my pouch loves the protein drink cause that is all i can do and if i can't do the protein drinks then i feel i will be doomed cause i'm not eating soft food yet.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Joy ~ sounds like you are doing pretty well. It does take a period of adjustment to see what pouchy likes or doesnt like. I found that post op I dont tolerate cold drinks too well, I actually threw up cold water ~ something soothing in the morning is probably best. I did protein drinks early out but then they turned on me - LOL - so I ended up using 2 c skim milk with 1 sf instant breakfast which I sipped on until I got it down. This was my morning routine for 3-4 months. Now pouchy likes the weight control oatmeal. It does have some carbs and 160 calories for the serving but also has a nice serving of protein; I also find that the fiber does me good. Some folks do well with eggs, I am not one of them, but this may be a choice for you before too long (when you get to soft foods). Just remember to go slow when trying solids, eat a tiny amount and see how it does. Glad you're doing well |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | it's so early out for you, I wouldn't sweat the solids yet...focus on your fluids now...the rest will come in time.....it's really all about searching out your options and developing a routine of what works for you....things that work with me may not sit well AT ALL with you etc... Glad to see you are feeling back to normal, so to speak!!! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | That's sounds like A LOT!!!!! I have just recently, at 2 months out, been able to drink as much as 16oz in a short period of time (30 min or so). It was taking me all day (even on weekends) to drink 40-50 oz. So yes, stick with the liquids until you can progress, but do it VERY slowly and chew chew chew!!!!! Don't worry about getting so many fluids in at once, or per hour, like that, just do the best you can. If it equals anywhere near 60 oz in a day, you will be fine. Especially since all of your full liquids count too. If you had 16 oz an hour you'd be drinking WAY too much for a day. Even just 5 hours at 16 oz per is 80, so it seems extreme to me.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | well, very early out I was to have 1 ounce of water every 10-15 minutes!! For me that never happend, it took me 10 minutes to drink 1 ounce of water! HaHa. I'm almost 6 weeks out and still can't get in all my fluids...everytime I eat I have to wait a 1/2 hour before I can drink, so if I eat 3 times (not happening lately) that an hour and 1/2 that I am not drinking anything! And if I do drink before 1/2 hour....OUCH! I was lucky and could do milk...but with my protein shake I have to do water. I used to drink Muscle Milk Light...but that bloated me and made me miserable. So now I do Isopure, which is very thin, like water and I can get 8oz down in a 1/2 hour time. I'm still trying to figure my pouch out...it takes time, that I am learning.

| All of it will come in time. You will learn as you go. Just try to get in as close to 60oz. per day as you can. I think you're doing great. You are still way early.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Getting your fluids in is the hardest part at first. Remember popcicles etc count towards it. |
