Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I need to know I amnot being paranoid. I feel like my weightloss has slowed to a trickle these days. I am losing about 1 to 1.5 lbs a week now. this is a far cry from when i had my surgery in January. I am 35 lbs away from my goal weight. I tell myself that 1lb a week right now is good that by next January that rate will bring me to my goal. then the irrational me says I am doing something wrong,or that I stretched my pouch. I can definately eat more than I could in the very beginning. I can even drink most of my 64 oz of liquid a day too. Has anyone else ever felt like this? Or has anyone had surgery around when I did and find the same thing is happening to them? Sometimes I think maybe this is just not working... I dont even have a lot of problems with the dumping thing...I tried something with sugar and was fine. I seem to be able to eat almost anything and be fine {except apples} go figure...they seem to get stuck big time. The other night I was able to eat a little more than half of a burger we had BBQed. I do find myself getting hungry by mealtimes...not famished but just hungry. Why am I being so paranoid lately?? I even have dreams that I gain weight back. I had lost 17 before my surgery and 42 since my sugery which was January 9th..Does this seem to be a normal amount?? Sorry if I have rambled on and been all over the place going from subject to subject...guess I am just panicing... thanks in advance for all the great answers you guys always give me... ![]() ![]()

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Yep, I agre with Friendly! It will slow down. It doesn't mean you're doing anything "wrong", your body is just adjusting. And the less you have to lose, the slower it comes off too. I know it's frustrating, but don't let it get you down. Just keep doing what you're doing. You're doing a GREAT job!! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hi Jen, Congrats on your weightloss. Your doing so great. I find that I'm eatting about 1/2 cup at meals. Somedays more. I wish I could eat anything like you. I got stuck with a grouchy pouchy!! I still am having trouble with meats and find I'm living on seafood salad, chicken salad, eggbeaters & fish. I tried 1/2 a turkery burger pattie yesterday and . UGH!!On the bright side, Soft Fruit always goes down well & I'm felling hungry around meantimes now. Yeh, I have those crazy dreams too. Latest dream I was pigging out on forbidden foods (strawberry shortcake with real heavy cream of course!) and then realized how sick I was gonna be from eatting this. I woke up feeling panicky & thinking OH MY GOD I've screwed up so bad!! Such a relief that it was a dream!! I can't wait to get down to your weight! Sounds like your doing everything right.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I had surgery a few weeks after you and I have only lost 33 lbs post-op. I lost 40 pre-op. I was losing 2-3 lbs a week for a while, but the last 2 weeks was only 1 pond each until this week finally. It varies so much that I don't get too crazy about it. I can eat more too and drink almost my 64 oz too. The swelling went down and we have more room I guess. I still only eat 3 meals a day and small ones, plus maybe a snack. I haven't had sugar really (except a few m&m's at easter), so i don't know about dumping. But I'm different. Even though I'm far from my goal, I'm only 15 ponds away from where I was perfectly happy before, so I'm sure that eventually I'll get there and any more will just be a bonus! You're doing great, just keep up the good work. We didn't put it on overnight, so it won't come off overnight either!

| I had surgery Dec 4th and I have lost 81 lbs. The weight loss is pretty slow these days. 1-3 pounds per week. I just keep telling myself that I am winning as long as I do not gain in a week. I eat way more than I see people posting that they are eating. I can easily eat 1 cup meals - sometimes more. I too get hungry. I have not had problems with any type of foods. I can eat whatever I want but generally make really healthy choices. I am exercising regularily so I let myself eat when I am hungry as long as I make good choices. I sometimes feel that the surgery did not work on me like it has on others, but I try to stop those thoughts as soon as I get them. I am loosing weight, exercising, and have built so much confidence and strength emotionally that it must be working. Keep up the great work and try not to sweat the small stuff. Good luck |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hi Jennifer, I think you are fine. Some days i feel like I can eat a lot, some days very little. I'm about a week later then you and I have only lost 47 pounds (not complaining!), and that's all since surgery. Sometimes I don't lose anything for a week or two, then I'll lose 1 pound one day, 2 pounds 4 days later...you just don't know. Also, the 1 pound a week thing may change for you again, it's still early, you may be going along....1 pound, 1 pound, 1 pound and boom - a 3 or 4 pound week, then back to 1 pound. All I know is there is no regularity to this.
