Default HELP! Please! eating HURTS!!!!

Hey everyone,

Well, I have had a textbook run up till now. I was allowed to start introducing new foods, so I did so... sweet as...
pineapple (crushed) no worries
pita bread (small amount) no worries

So I think, ok, I will scramble some eggs and fill a pita bread, cut it up and have that for lunch. had 2 bites, and was full. Sweet!

Next day, (yesterday), had another bite, and BAM!!!! immediate pain, thick mucous in my mouth, followed by an influx of saliva, and it looked like I was going to hurl..... managed to keep it down....just... that was at lunchtime.
Couldnt eat till 10pm, had some mince (meat) and it happened again! not as bad thankfully...

Then today... I was a bit afraid to eat...but had some yoghurt, that was fine, then cooked my tea....
mini-mini falafel (chick-pea mixture), to replace bread, burger..... sml piece of lettuce, tiny bit of beetroot and a sprinkle of cheese. This thing was about an inch long 1/2 inch wide and about 1/2in high.

I managed about half, then it started... ran to the bathroom..... managed to keep it down, but jeez it was a struggle!! I was chewing very slowly and took my time....

Can anyone please try and tell me whats going on? I cant call the Drs as it is the weekend....

Thank-you all

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

1) It could be just something called the foamies.
2) You may be dealing with just a picky pouchy.
3) You could be catching a stomach flu
4) It could be the dreaded stricture.

Now, what about liquids, can you keep that down? And protein shakes? If you can, you can rule out a complete stricture for now, as often, liquids won't go down, either. However, a very low grade stricture may prevent solids from going down, though the liquids pass through.
If this continues, yes, you should call your surgeon (or if he has a call service, contact there) but if you can hold the liquids down and have no pain, then having to wait for a day or two is not that bad. If you do have pain, get seen by someone as soon as you can, even if this means a visit to the ER,

((((((HUGS)))))) I sure hope its one of 1)-3).

I can deal with liquids and things like yoghurt just fine, and when I had managed to keep the solids down, I had a little water to hopefully get it out of my pouch a little quicker as I didnt want it in there and I didnt want to puke!
The pain goes more quickly once I do have a drink.

What are 'the foamies?'

I am just going to stick to liquids and yoghurt till I speak with my surgeons office on monday...I think it might be safer (?)

Thank-you so much Doc!

I went through a period and did this a lot...where you feel like you're gonna hurl, mouth fills....that was when I wondered why the heck did I have this surgery?? LOL

Hopefully, it will pass and it's just picky pouch...I will tell you I found myself eating TOO fast or not chewing well enough most times it happened....

Keep us posted and hope you feel better!

Thank-you! If I had had the same foods each time, it would give me an idea of what NOT to eat! but its been different..... *argh* lol I expected to get a grouchy/picky pouch, but didnt expect this kind of reaction! 'scared' me a bit though, (which isnt a bad thing, keeps ya from getting cocky), I just didnt want to puke!

Im going to visit a friend now, but will be back later.....
THANK_YOU ALL!!!!

Try eating beans and mashed pot. I still at 6 mo. havent had a pita or a sandwich, i guess i'm too afraid they might work, and i dont want them too.cook your meat till it just falls apart. I couldn't tolerate heavy solids for a long time. You will have to keep testing the waters. There is a lot of threads on here about what people ate at diff. stages.good luck
