Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hi ll its been a while since I posted anything. My surger was late Nov. and have lost 83 lbs so far and am finding at this stage that I am craving my sin foods of chips and cheese or salsa. I haven't had any, but some days the craving is very strong. Is this normal? I'ave also hit a 2 week stall, is this normal at this point? I'm a bit frustrated as I haven't had a stall of nothing last this long. I've been watching a few of the posts and realize that there are some people out there that wonder if its working, I'm one of those. I don't seem to get sick on anything, which can be good or bad. I've been doing what I should, but am frustrated. Any tips? Thanks. Lois |

| Super Moderator | Yes, you will have cravings that come and go. And you will have stalls all over the place. Incidentally, a stall isn't even a stall unless it lasts over 4 weeks You're doing fine, and what you're experiencing is quite normal ((((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | all is normal & you've done well....you know what those foods taste like and as Kenya says, they did surgery on our tummy, not our brain. I tend to taste something I'm craving to satisfy it....you'll be surprised...it's not what you remembered and you can't eat much. Keep up the great work and get used to the stalls...further out, they can be longer and the weight loss will slow down! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | You have done amazing! We all have our cravings, but sometimes giving in and having a few chips is fine, just not too many. Plus salsa and cheese (real cheese, not the liquidy stuff) is good for you! You've gotten pretty far with no official stall, it happens to everyone, it's part of the process. You've lost A LOT and your body needs to catch up. I don't get sick either, we're all different. You're doing great, don't be so hard on yourself!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I believe that we can all relate to at least one thing that you posted if not the whole post. You are doing an excellent job! I too have had some recent cravings, like I used to drink at least one soda per day. I have been craving one recently; however, the craving subsides after about 10 mins and a long coming to Jesus talk with myself. This is one craving I will never cave to. I often rationalize that my body is telling me that it needs something when I start with the cravings. I then move to water and evaluate what I have eaten recently to see if I am missing any essential nutrients. If I can't find something that I am missing...I just keep drinking my water. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I think we all eventually have cravings. I will usually go ahead allow myself a taste and normally the first bite is really good and then the second bite just doesn't taste that great and I realize it doesn't measure up to what I remember and I am done with it. I have craved a soda over the weekend, but I don't dare try it! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I give into my cravings and try to do it the healthy way. So I look for options that are healthier to eat. I have eaten chetooes for a few months but only alowed myself only two bags a month, and that is my husband helping me eat them. So I only got a few, but that was ok because I satified my craving. I have not craved them in a long time. Cravings do come and go. I eat wheat thins every once in a while and salsa and cheese is healthy for you. You can use wheat thins as a cracker for the salsa. Now I am into the extend crackers from Netrition site that I order most of my foods, the extend crackers have a good amount of protein in them so that way I am not eating empty foods. I have a sweet tooth and I do the sugarfree candies but only alow myself two or three in onw day. So when I eat this stuff I watch my carbs for the rest of the day. I have revised alot of recipes so that I can eat them. I am of German decent and ohhhhh all those good German foods are so good and I miss them, so I have started to revise them and they are pretty good and my mom is just excited about helping me revise them and she is eating some of the revisied foods also. Germans are noted to eat, foods made with dough. My daughter and I are revising them with protein powders and they taste pretty good. My mom made me some egg drop soup with my powders and wheat flour and ohhhhh is that ever good. I do not know if anyone heard about kneifla, but that is what my daughter and me and my mom are working on right now. My daughter made some but I did not care for them, they were to cakeee for me and I need them a little heavier. So I am still working on perfecting them yet. later on when I have more weight off I want to try and make some homemade noodles with my powders. My head is really going around and around of thinking how to revise recipes that I use to love to eat and they would be a healthy food. I am afraid if I do not give into my cravings that I am gonna go and binge on food and that is the last thing I want to do so I try to revise my cravings and I am going to enjoy them but the right way.
