Question Hair loss

I am very afraid of what is happening. I heard there is hair loss but this much? OMG! I am trying to increase protein intake but almost impossible. Any other suggestions or something I can go get to help slow this down.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

as far as i feel this was one of the most difficult phases post op
to deal with.

I took biotion to help speed up the new growth!
its happens to most of us i had it bad.
but now being three years post op
it has grown back and i almost have
my layers out now!!!!

so hang in there and i promise
you wont get totally bald like
a cancer treatment person!
hang in there this is so worth it

I started about the 2 1/2 month mark. I get my full protein in pretty much every day too. I also took Biotin from before surgery till now. Definitely don't wash your hair every day if you can get away from it. Mine is thyroid dry so I can get away with it. Also, are you taking 5000mg a day of Biotin, go up to that. There is a 5000mg chewable at Whole Foods. I am at the 4 1/2 month mark now and still losing it. I try to not blow dry it and comb it with my fingers as much as possible. Be as gentle as possible. It happens in two cyles from what I hear, now and at the 8-10 month mark again. Keep your chin up and your hair too if its long enough.

I have read to wash it as normal b/c otherwise more will come out at one time which can be more of a shock. Also, I read that washing and messaging the scalp my help the hair to regrow. I am at just over 2 months out and I am noticing that I am shedding but nothing too serious yet. I know that this is just part of the journey! The hair will grow back....thats what I tell myself. I have been worrying about the hair loss since months before surgery. Before we know it...we will be thin with a full head of hair back Good luck!!

Remeber you shed twice a year anyways. I lost some of mine but nothing horrible and not really noticable either or so I was told. I have thin fine hair to begin with. Now if we could lose it off other body parts and it not grow back. That would be a plus eh? LOL.

I took Biotin when I had my surgery and I still am taking it. I lost a fair amout of hair and really noticed it. Now my hair has all grown back plus more than before the surgery. Definitely take the Biotin. And I only took 1000mg a day at first. I now take 5000mg. The great thing is my hairdresser noticed it first, even before I did. Then some other friends commented on it being thicker. So hang in there!

I didn't notice my hair shedding until about the 3 month mark, but by the time I hit 4 months, it was falling out! I had a beautiful, thick head of hair before the surgery and even though I knew it would fall out, I was still shocked at how much! I've cut it twice since Jan. (4 mos) and I think the style makes me feel better now. It is still shedding, but not nearly as much as it was. I'm at 6 mos, almost 7 now, and my dr said it should come to a halt soon. I haven't taken any Biotin, but I'm going to start! And I wasn't getting all my protein in. I have a hard time with that, but I'm working on it and I've noticed the more protein I eat, the less my hair seems to fall out.

At least it grows back. I have been there done that with my thyroid and believe me there are worse things. I am just going to cut my hair short if it gets bad again like when my thyroid was really bad.
