Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  Stoma question Today I ate a strawberry and swallowed too soon. Of course as soon as I did it I realized what I had done but it was too late! I think it was before lunch, coz if it was, I should be ok, coz I ate lunch with no problem. The reason I am thinking about it is that I came home and went to eat some chicken and broccoli casserole and pouchy said "NO!". Hmmmmmm..... Sometimes pouchy doesnt care for chicken and this may be one of those times - actually I hope that's all it is. What do you guys think? If my stoma were clogged, I'd have  by now wouldnt I? I've had 1/2 cup of coffee since then. Maybe I should try a drink......

Well im not an expert... I would think your not blocked or possibly even ur liquids would be comeing up...time will tell. ONE of the things i was told to keep on hand should i get something stuck is papaya enzyme (got in walmart) cause its a food tenderizer. I am sure a strawberry will get soft and go thru so i wouldnt worry to much. good luck hope its nothing! hugs

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hey Lisa - I think you're right - I'd know by now. I did manage to eat a bit of food and some pudding and feel okay. The second that strawberry slid past my mouth I thought 'what have I done!!!!" Guess that will help me be more vigilant and not rush

I did that with a bite of a protein bar and it was stuck most of the night...couldn't sleep, but I could drink. I just keep pushing the liquids and I guess it finally washed through. It hurt like HECK though. I'm sure you're fine...were you in pain? |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Just a little discomfort initially but the reason I asked the ?? was that later when I ate something I was full instantly - like 3 bites. I think it may have just been the chicken I was eating. Today is good.
