| Major headache...
I started my 2 week liquid diet on Monday. I am getting between 60 and 80 grams of protein a day and about 70 to 80 ounces of water. What can I do to get rid of this massive headache? Tylenol is not working at all. I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. I seriously thought I would be able to handle 2 weeks, but this headache has to go. With work, kids, hubby, and a dog I think may just completely lose it. Any help would be great!

The headaches are a side effect of the liquid diet. It goes away in about 1 week. That is how long I had mine. In the meantime take Excedrin migraine, it worked wonders!!!
(((HUGS))). Hang on, your almost through this

I love Excederine. I'll have to call and ask them about it though. When we were doing all my pre-op stuff I am sure he said only tylenol. My doctor is very picky, which is great...at least until I can't get any relief! I am so glad to know it does eventually go away though! Thank you for the reassurance!

I forgot about that. I don't think you can take Excedrin because it is aspirin which thins the blood. Disregard that last part. As far as tylenol goes that stuff never did help. Even bigger (((HUGS))) so that you can endure it until it is over.

I didn't get a headache with my liquid pre op diet -- only got one when I went off caffine -- have you stopped caffine for any reason? If so, a little cup of joe may help cure the headache

I stopped my caffeine intake completely 1 month ago. I sure wish that was all it was. Hubby is off tonight, so he is dealing with the kiddos. I have about 2 hours left of work to do and then I'm going to crawl in bed with an ice pack and heat. Thanks for the hugs! They always help.

I not only got a headache when I started my liquid diet, but I also got light headed and dizzy. It went away for me after 2 days. At the time since it was 6 weeks pre-op, I could take more than tylenol, but I didn't need it after those first couple of days. I know it sucks, but it will subside.

Well all I can tell you is that I had the absolute WORST headache after my surgery and suffered for four days -- then my nurse told me to try a little bit of coffee -- all I had was like a 1/4 cup and within minutes the headache was gone and I felt human again. It may very well be related. You might want to try a little caffine and see if that affects the headache.

Ok, so I drank about 2-3 oz of diet coke and took 2 tylenol. Thank your for all your input and advice. This forum is amazing!

You may be going through carb withdrawal, that can give you headaches too, as a matter of fact, any withdrawal can, if you go cold turkey, so think and check what you've gone off major, with the liquid diet. Not that you can get them back in, but it will help you to know what's causing them.
I hope the Tylenol and the coke did the job.
