Default Bowling after Surgery

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows how long you have to wait to do things like bowling after surgery. I completely forgot to ask my surgeon at my post-op. Any replies would be appreciated!

Thanks, av8r_wife

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Mine said once I hit 3 weeks I had NO restrictions- could lift my 30 pound son and go on roller coasters, so I think bowling would be fine! He did say to expect left sided tenderness for a while and that it would get worse during activities so take it easy if you hurt!

Just give a call to his office and ask, I would assume they would know and could tell u over the phone. I would not have been released to bowl for at least the first 6 weeks, but all surgs. are diff. Kathy

I'm actually going bowling this weekend, but I'm almost 9 months out!! Initially, I think I had to wait about a month before I could anything more than 10 pounds.

I agree, you should call your surgeons office - you will get too much of a different response here (I think I was told nothing over 30 pounds for 8 weeks ??). But bowling can pull something - call and ask

Mine said nothing over 10lbs for 8 weeks also!! You could always use an 8lbs ball Last weekend I went to Costco and was lifting boxes full of food and big water bottle cases. That was my first real lifting since surgery (I was about 10 weeks out) and I hurt for days in my incision! Even though the doc says its ok at 1 month....take it easy and be careful!!
