Default Dizzy question

I know this has been asked before but why do we get dizzy so much after surgery? Lately whenever I stand up from sitting or bending over I get really dizzy and light head almost to the point of passing out...I know I have seen some posts where a few of our girls have fallen because of this..any insight would be appreciated

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Make sure your hemoglobin and iron levels are good, first.
Then your blood pressure.

The dizziness can be for a few reasons, but
1) anemia: due to the malabsorption issue from bypass-- check this out with your dr.
2) orthostatic hypotention: this, because of your great and rapid weight loss, your body's system needs to adjust to the new weight/circulation balance.
3) inner ear trouble, which is totally unrelated to weight loss
4) not to scare you, but brain tumors and strokes--well, I'm pretty sure that won't be the issue for most of you
5) heart attacks and agina--yes, they can cause dizzness too, but then again, the likelyhood is small, unless you've been already diagnosed for such issues, or you are in the age range that these issues increase.

becka, how was your last blood count? Be sure to keep track of that.

I almost certain its my own doing...I just researched anemia and the fact that I havent been taking my extra iron or my thyroid meds I am almost certain thats my problem. I have several other symptoms that they listed that fits in with the anemia. I guess I'll be going in for blood work as soon as I get a car

I do this to Becka. I was visiting the girls were I used to work the other day after standing up for a bit I was grabbing on to a rail. Then the next day I was talking to my brother and he noticed me wobbling and come grabbed my arm.

Doc would you gait be affected with the hypotension? I have problems with my gait to.

With orthostatic hypotention, if you tried to walk immediately after standing up, yes it would. You could get orthostatic hypotension from standing too long, too, if your body's blood pressure adjusting system is not prompt enough.
There can be other causes for your gait, though, you do have a bad knee, don't you? You should check it our with your dr. How you walk may be a hint as to what's the issue, as, depending on the issue, some have very specific gait that promptly points the way to what's up.
