I had a violent vomiting episode yesterday after eating 2 bites of grilled london broil, this morning I awoke with a reddish purple spots all over my face. Has this ever happened to anyone??? I looked on the internet and it seems to be pitechea, broken blood vessels from violently wretching. Great I look like I have a pizza face, how long will it take to go away?? Any information would be helpful...

I am sorry you were so ill. Throwing up sucks. I have rosacea on my face, which looks similar to pitechea. It comes/goes depending on what I am eating (spicy) or fever or sun exposure. It will go away in a couple days. Makeup is great. We have similar skin tones. Pick a makeup with a yellow tinge...that will wipe away the red/purple. Trust me...like magic. Source: My step-daughter, who is a studio makeup artist.

Sounds more like rosacea than petechia. I suggest you ask your surgeon or PCP about it though, just to be safe. Rosacea is an underlying condition that can show up and disapper, but petechiae sometimes indicates bleeding tendencies.
