Hi all. I am 18 days out and was losing something every day. In fact 23 lbs since surgery, however I have become a scale freak and am on it every day. (never ever done that before) I have not lost anything in 5 days. Just seems weird to have hit a plateau when I am not eating anything! I am still on protein liquids and I am exercising. Doing everything by the book. Is this normal? Maybe I am expecting too much??
Also, I have MS and am having a flare up in my right leg. I usually deal with a flare up with IV steroids but I know that they make you gain weight and can slow down healing. I am going to talk to the Dr. tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this or if anyone else has had to deal with steroids. Thank you all for being here.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I dont know about the MS part, but it's fun in the beginning to literally see the weight falling off of you. The key is not to get hung up on it and not to expect it. Your body will fluctuate considerably over time and this is normal for it to plateau from time to time, even for weeks at a time (I have gotten stuck for 4 weeks at least 3-4 times). I even got stuck a few weeks out - your body has some major adjusting to do! Wishing you the best!

YOur insides are healing right now. It needs all it can to heal frist, not to lose weight. So, yes, it's common for the scale not to move daily. That and the MS flare up is probably preventing the scale from moving, but how about your inches? Your clothes get looser--you lose your inches--when the scale numbers are at a standstill.
The steroids, you need to talk to your drs about, but if you need them you should take them. Even if it slows down your weight loss, you should get the flare up under control first for your body to heal as it should, and to lose weight.
Always keep in mind that you will lose weight in humps and bumps, not one smooth fell swoop.

I think I am going to stay off the scale for a few days and not worry about it. I will wait until I see the Dr. on Thursday and get on their scale.
I have not had a MS flare up in a long time but I suspect that my body is changing so quickly that it has added some stress. I also broke my ankle in January and am still healing from that.
Thank you all.

you will go thru stalls, so u better get use to them lol i know all about being a scale freak..so put away the scale and try not to weigh so much, also at these times that u are not losing pounds u are losing inches, try measuring it may help ease ur mind, dont worry the weight loss will pick up again!!
