Has anyone had problems with their teeth? I made a dental appointment for tomorrow b/c I am having a weird sensation in my teeth. I feel like I want to bite down hard all the time. I have pretty strong teeth. I am 29 and I have never had a cavity so this is weird for me. It is not pain all I can say is it is a sensation. My mom told me to call my aunt who has also had wls becuase she thinks that she remembers her having problems with her teeth after surgery. Is this possibly related to wls....does it affect our teeth? I have been feeling like this for about 5 days now!!!

First of all im glad you have a dentist appoitment. We have to keep our teeth at this point because of all the chewing were doing. I havnt been to the dentist since I have had mine done but got all mine fixed right before. I will say this..... this was one of my concerns before I had surgery. My cousin......who had it 3 years ago now lost several teeth. Now....she didnt have great teeth to begin with so im thinking it was mainly because of her bad dental habits before hand. I did address this on the board before I had my surgery and no one stated they had problems. I have seen however one post from a lady stating she never had a cavity and suddenly got one afterwards. I dont know if it effects our teeth or not acutally but I know when I was pregnant with my son it did a number on mine. I would think it would be related to a point? This is a good question to ask your dentist tomorrow mabye he can shed some light on it for us all. I hope it all goes well for you! |

As well as checking out with your dentist, some possibilities. Calcium intake post op can be affected (low VitD and calcium itself) which can cause teeth trouble. Also, since you say sensation, your nerve ends may be affected to low VitB group including VB12. How are you doing with your supplements? ((((((HUGS))))))) Do hope it's nothing to worry about.
