Question How To

how does one stop losing and then GAIN weight? i am going to sit and discuss this with my dr eventhough i dont agree with it. but i am curious how it is done with control. I mean i cant just go out and start eating how i did pre-op. how do you manage this in a way that wont trigger old habits?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

i should add some more specific info.
i know we are to add carbs when we want to slow the loss down HOWEVER, i dump off carbs. i can eat higher calorie food BUT those tend to have higher fat content and i dump off that too. so whats left? do i add a burger every night and pray for the best? LOL. i was never really big on calorie counting or making lists etc. would it be as simple as adding a shake consistantly at night or am i missing something here? im lost...

Once I hit goal weight,
I upped my intake a little at a time until stable weight was established.
With me, it included adding a little more fats and some more Low-Glycemic Carbs-
More fruit and veggies…
So far? So Good….
I Did NOT add back in all of the stuff that got me to my original size.
No sweets, rarely if ever any "white carbs," no caloric liquids…

There is a little "balancing act" when adding foods back in
While in the back of your mind that little conscious is saying-
"Go Ahead! What could it hurt? You’re under goal by 5 pounds as it is!"
Stick with Healthy Choices, developed along the way
And you should be fine.

Best Wishes-
Dx

I think that Dx has a good point at the maintaining thing, try to up your intake a tad at a time of the good things.

hehehee. im pretty tall i guess and still losing. i dont change it on here but i am actually 4 lbs LOWER than whats reflectd in my weight on here. i have learned to wait to change it, as i do "bounce" from time to time.
i guess my "concern" is that at a year out i should be able to eat more. i am still confined to about 5 ozs total per meal. eating 6 times a day has me feeling like a bloated pig so i cant even maintain that. im just curious.

oh i posted in another thread my "goal" weight set by my surgeon was 180 which i blew right past. my pcp states i should be 170 if and when i get up off my lazy butt to train for a physical aptitude test, i will most probably lose even more because i have to run...which will leave me where in another 6 months? LOL!

in terms of what to add, i dump off the craziest things. im fine with table sugar, but fruit and white carbs, and fat set me off. i dont know how im going to do this....

thanks for the suggestions
