Default Sex!

I think I'm the queen of "stupid questions." In fact you guys should just add a "FAQ...by Megan" link somewhere on here.

Anyway... how long after surgery was it until you could have sex?

Now for why this question is so amusing to me:
- I don't have a boyfriend
- I don't have a husband either
- I don't have a "friend with benefits"
- Heck, I haven't even had sex in 9+ months

(So I don't know why on Earth I think I'll suddenly be doing it post-surgery :P) I guess I'm just curious... Thanks in advance for the answers!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

If you are asking, medically speaking, then you should ask your surgeon.
Each surgeon has his/her own formula.

Yes, I was medically speaking... It's not really the kind of question I want to ask my surgeon (or one of his nurses, for that matter)...that's why I came here. I guess I'm not just talking sex either...but anything remotely strenuous on your body (lifting something over 10 pounds, going to an amusement park, etc.)

Getting the release of strenuous activities whatever they are, you must get it from your surgeon, or they won't be able to guard you against popping something unexpectedly. Some surgeons okay weight resistance exercise after 4-5 weeks, others say no until after 3 months, so you need to ask your surgeon and go by his/her instructions.

Seriously, while I can understand why you may be shy of asking some Qs to the medical staff, it is best that you ask them because they are the ones who know how your body has been changed exactly, and can be responsible for you. (If you do something without the clearance from your dr and staff, and something happens, there will be no one to blame but yourself.) Besides, we (medical professionals) are used to just about every single conceivable Q in the world, so won't be surprised by anything, if anything, we all expect Qs from our patients and welcome them. It's better for us to know that our patients are following our suggestions, than to be wondering what they might be thinking/doing.

I just realised, you are having an experimental procedure.
That means you will have to run EVERYTHING by your surgeon.
Nobody else can give you an answer that you can rely on.
(((((HUGS))))

My surgeon looked dead at my hubby and told him hands off for 2 months. You should have seen both of there faces when discussing this. The surgeons was strict and my hubbys was OH MAN! In my expericences with this ...... they will send you home a list of dos and donts. Sex is included in this along with what not to pick up as far as poundage goes and for how long. The nurse that discharges you is usually the one that discusses it with you right before you leave. Or as I said that has always been my experice with it. If your in the hosptial on good pain meds....... you wont care who you ask what anyways LOL!!!

Doc is absolutly correct since your in the experimental department make sure they tell you everything.

Where could I get a surgeon like that!? Mine gave me full clearance at 3 weeks, sex and housecleaning.... and let me tell you, if my hubby weren't in the room to hear it I would have pretended he said 3 months! Darn surgeon thinking I wanted to do ANY of those things 3 weeks after surgery! LOL
