Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  Absorption of the Pill Ok so I am not supposed to fall pregnant before 2 years after surgery,right. But I have also read that the absorption of medication is not as effecient after surgery as preop... (is it true?) so I guess my question is, if medication is in general not absorbed as it should be, postop, will it not effect the absorbtion of the Pill as well? And then I may fall pregnant?  mmmmmmmm......... is this a stupid question? Shakinah

| If someone can shed some light on things for me... I'm not so concerned about getting pregnant...but my PCOS is so out of whack I depend on the pill or I'll get my period for 3 months straight. It's NOT fun. Will my hormones be so crazy that my pill will be THAT ineffective? I'm not on the pill to keep from getting pregnant. I'm only on it to regulate myself.

I really don't know if will or won't work to regulate your period, I guess we'll have to wait for Doc. She's answered these questions about birth control umpteen times, but I don't know about the regulating stuff. Good question!
