Default antidepressants and sleeplessness

are most people who are on antidepressants on sleep aids as well? just curious. I dont know if it is related or not but when i started them last time something similar happend where i was not getting restful sleep. i suppose the tiredness could be related moreso to the depression itself? i dunno....just curious if anyone had/has similar issues.

i am off to take my swig of benadryl LOL. good night folks!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I was on Ambien for 10 years and harly slept. Up and down all night, in the recliner, in the bed........ Been on anti's for about 4 years and since surgery I sleep like a baby w/o the Ambien. I do take 2 mg's of Lorzapham before bed but always did with the Ambien also. I am so glad I do not take the Ambien anymore. First night w/o it was night of surgery 1/24/08!!

Hang in there hopefully things will turn around soon.

Some are, some aren't.
Becareful of OTCs, antidepressants and sleep aids do not alway compliment each other, so it's best to ask your dr what sleep aids you can take.

Not sure really. Mostly I get enough sleep but tonight I'm so excited about the new job and moving that I can't sleep. Boy I'll pay for this tomorrow!

Kenya, I am on two antidepressants and sleep is easy to obtain for me, I could fall asleep anytime ,anywhere it feels like sometimes. I always thought the pills were why I was so sleepy, esp. after losing weight I thought I would be flying all over but there are alot of days where I am dragging.

I too am on 2 antidepressants and sometimes have difficulty sleeping. I take Tylenol PM when I can't take it anymore (ok with my Doc) but try to go without first.

I think maybe once you get your Lexapro bulilt back up you will have a better time with sleeping. I had a hard time sleeping after surgery for a while. That is because I wasnt on my meds for about a month.

I am on three antidepressants and ambien. The ambien gets me to sleep-which is the hardest part. I stay asleep for a good 4 hours and then I feel like jogging a marathon. Too bad my joints hurt! I started the other two antidepressants about 1 month ago and it has helped more than I even hoped. I will be weaned off of them in a few months but in comparisson to how I felt to how I feel now...you better believe I am taking these pills like clockwork!
