Default Where can I find cute clothes that are inexpensive???

I leave for Vegas on June 30 and I need at least 2 to 3 new outfits that fit me. Right now I've been just wearing the elastic sweat type shorts and jeans that are still too big (I work from home so there was no point in buying clothes yet). I have looked at many stores and tried on new clothes, but when I try them on I don't feel like I look good in them. I really want to enjoy myself, but in order to do so I know I need to find a comfort zone. I am so not wanting to spend a lot of money, but want something nice. Any ideas??? I'm fresh out.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Is the issue here where you can buy clothes, or what honestly looks good on you?

Ask a friend to come with you clothing shopping. Tell him/her to be honest as to if an outfit works or is too big/small. You may be surprised that what you feel is not OK is actually perfect on you, from the eyes that are not attached to your brain.

I am very VERY comfortable/casual at home, but I do not work from home. There is an argument that when in the home office, one should dress as if the office is open to the public. My financial adviser, for example, works from home, but he tells me that when he begins his work day, he is dressed to the shoes, in slacks, dress shirt and tie....As if he is at an office with clients.

Any store such as Kohls or Walmart has women's size clothing that is appropriate vacation (and home business) attire. You just need to learn to feel confident enough to wear them!

I agree with Judi...that is some great advice there! One of the hardest things for me to start was wearing shirts that actually FIT me. Now that I know what a fitted T is, that is about all I wear now.
I do a lot of shopping at Sears...they have GREAT clearance clothes. Their Missy dept is hugs and filled with tons of values!
I know that Kenya swears by places like Marshalls...she has gotten some really nice stuff for almost nothing. Good luck.

Do you have a Steve and Barry's by you? They have really cheap/cute clothes. Kohl's, TJ Maxx and Old Navy are some of my favorites!

I think it is more about me be comfortable and wanting to look good. I haven't weighed this little in at least 4 years so I'm out of practice! I'm used to t-shirts and jeans or shorts or scrubs since I used to work in the hospital. If I got dressed to work at home I would wear my scrubs since I do medical transcription. I have many of them in all different sizes so buying dress pants and blouses would just be a waste.

I love Kohls, but just didn't want to spend 60 bucks on each outfit. The Old Navy here doesn't have women's clothing and even though I can fit into a 16W at Kohls, I can't fit into a 16 or 18 at Old Navy and that is as high as they go. Wal-Mart here has the flowerly plus size and their other dept has shorts so short my butt would literally hang out. I'll definitely try the other stores mentioned.

I did ask my aunt to go with me. We are only 11 years apart so more like sisters and she has good fashion sense. I told her I am do for a makeover and she agreed. Thanks for your help girls! I love being able to post a question and get awesome advice!

I am in the stage where I am buying cheap stuff that looks cute and I don't care if it has to last. I have found great stuff at Goodwill (pants more than shirts), Walmart, Target, Marshalls, Ross, and TJ Maxx. Ross and TJ Maxx have a lot of dressier type shirts- if I want a tshirt or more casual stuff I seem to find that at Walmart or Target. I have a hard time with tshirts since everything is SUPER short sleeved and I just want a normal sleeve! GRRR can't wait till that trend is over!
