I am wondering when I should start seeing excess skin. I have lost close to 70 lbs and so far I do not have any excess skin. I still have a ways to go before I reach goal and am starting to get concerned about this. I guess to some degree it is inevitable. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Lots of things determine whether this is an issue or not. I started at 271 and really noticed it around 175-165 but I am 43, I still dont have a tremendous issue with it, only a vanity issue. Also, if you are big all over and younger you may not have it at all. I expected my abdomen to be a problem but it really isnt anything like I have seen in others ~ which is not to say I'll be wearing a bikini - LOL! I look really nice and "normal" in longer shorts and short sleeve shirts, and of course capris or slacks. Still working on my self image but really I kinda just look normal now (dressed). Otherwise, kinda have a melted candle look but, again, I think age is a factor. It helps to put things in perspective - compare yourself to your last "full figure" picture, not someone you see on tv.

I REALLY started noticing it around 100+ pounds...clancy & I are are an easy compares...we are the same age, around the same height...had surgery around the same time....started off around the same range and had similar goals.....and have real close to one another....my legs look 150 years old...tummy isn't too bad...arms/boobs are downright deformed. I look great in clothes.....so it's the image/vanity thing. I could not do ANYTHING about it and probably be fine.....hopefully, we'll be in a position to do something at the end of this year or early next year!

I started to see it at about 75 pounds in the arms and breasts- it still isn't horrible, but I can tell it will be a problem for sure in the next 50 pounds! The tummy is recovering a little better than the rest. It all depends on your age, body, skin elasticity.....maybe yours won't be too bad!

As others have said, there are many depending factors, skin, age, elasticity, etc.

I am 46 so give me a check mark on the age. But you all are right, it is a vanity thing and I need to keep it in perspective. Even with the extra skin I will/do look a ton better than I did before. Thanks!!

That's actually great news -- if your skin still has its elasticity, you may not have a lot which is great!
