| Anyone feeling hot??
No, I'm not talking about all the wonderful "after" pictures showing your successes! (It's obvious from those that you are!! )
What I am talking about is the way we respond to the temperature of our environment. My wife the other day was complaining about how hot it was in my office upstairs. I told her I hadn't noticed, but when I checked the thermometer, it was in the low 80s! Six months ago, I used to work up a sweat thinking about getting out of a chair. It was hot for me at 70 degrees F! Yet yesterday I was working outside and hardly broke a sweat tearing down and moving fence sections in the back yard. And it was 80 degrees!
Today I was talking to some women at church who were asking me if the room felt hot to them. They were suffering and I felt just fine, but I adjusted the thermostat anyway for them. It was 75 in the room and I hadn't noticed!
Since I've lost a few pounds, I don't notice the heat any more. I think, though, that I was feeling a bit colder than normal towards the end of the eternal winter and non-spring we had this year. This is a way different experience than I'm used to!! Where I grew up, Minnesotans would have done up their jackets long before I would have!!
Anyone else notice that they respond differently to hot and cold than they once did? Is this permanent now that we're smaller and have less insulation?
Inquiring minds want to know!!

Search with the key words "cold" or "freezing", you'll come up with plenty of posts and threads.

LOLOL CT, you are a total RIOT! I love reading your posts!!!
My husband and I were discussing this at dinner last night as I was wrapped in a lap blanket because it was so cold in the house! Of course my boy was walking around with NO shirt. Its funny, I live in Florida and LIVE in shorts, but always have a blanket! LOLOL It can be 110 degrees outside, but I still carry a light jacket into my doctor appts.

Oh yeah, it takes a lot to get me overheated so far this summer. Granted it's only been really hot a few days, before it would have seemed like MUCH more! I have AC to get the humdity out, and it only comes on once or twice a night, but when it does I'm wrapped in my fleece blanket!

Oh yes I can relate very easily to what you are saying. Before surgery I would sweat so bad that my face would be so wet and dripping. I always carried paper towels along with me and have plenty on hand in my purse. It could be in the dead of winter and I would sweat in peoples houses and stores. My house I was ok, most of the time becasue we had the temperatures turned way down. When people would come to visit us in the winter they would wear jackets or wear their winter coats becasue they would be so cold in our house. My husband would walk around with warmer cloths on, but me on the other hand I would be wearing shorts and a short sleeve tops. At night I rarely would cover myself with blankets. During the summer the air conditioner would be running full blast to keep me cold, my husband would come in the house and turn off the air conditioner becasue he frooze in the house. The minute he would go to bed I would turn on the air conditioner and let it run all night and turn it off just before hubby would get out of bed. I was sneaky when it came to things like that. My family and friends all have noticed that I hardly do not sweat anymore and they are so fascinated by that, becasue I sweat like that for so many years and that is how they remember me.
But now that I have lost all this weight, it is just oppisite, I am always cold, and sometimes at night I need two blankets to keep me warm and I have noticed that hubby is not wearing anything to bed and throws the blankets off him becasue he is so warm and now when it comes to me I am covered with blankets and I have a nightgown on. I do not sweat in stores or peoples houses anymore either. The other night my hubby came in the house for supper, now he has been outside all day, he complained how hot it was in the house and why I did not turn on the air conditioner, as a dummy like me, I asked why, becasue I am just comfortable with the temperatures in the house. He said to me, becasue it is so darn hot in here and that he was roasting in the house. I was just comfortable the way it was and I could hardly believe that it was that hot in the house. Another thing I noticed, years ago when I would work in my garden or try and till the garden I would sweat so bad and would be so hot internally, that I had to stop and sit down and then my hubby took over the tiller becasue I just could not do it anymore and to top it off working with the tiller cultavator my back would hurt so bad also. Now, oh my gosh I have done all the tiller cultavating so far in my garden. I do not feel hot whatsoever, but I am sweating and sweat dripping off me when I till, becasue I do not stop for breaks I keep going until I am done for that day. I know it does not make any sence but I am sweating but I am not hot.
You know the best of it all is that I can stand beside people now and not even break a sweat and people beside me are sweating like crazy. I love that feeling. I would always be so embarassed of my sweating aroud people. Not anymore becasue I do not hardly sweat at all anymore. Isn't that just the greatest feeling, wow!!!!!

Im with you all. I froze all winter and the summer is not making me hot yet. I do however no matter what I eat or how much I eat I get hot after eating. Just for a few minutes. Im the one that wore shorts all winter long usually in my house to keep from getting to hot. This year I was like a eskimo and layered clothing.

Last evening, the A/C was blowing in our bedroom and a ceiling fan and a floor fan were blowing directly on the bed. AFter being in bed for an hour, DH said, "I'm hot."
I was just about to ask him to go downstairs and shut off the A/C!
At 4 this morning, I had to get a blanket!
I am going to bring this up to my DR...maybe my thyroid needs an adjustment. I haven't lost enough yet to be cold all the time, like my friends here who are at/close to goal.

Well it may just be a post-op thing for me since i Just had surgery on 6/11, but yes I have been very cold. LIke you my thermostat was always at 70 and now the week after surgery it has stayed around 80. My electric bill will be great next summer if this is the trend.
