Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

can you have cream soups? (cream of chicken, cream of mushroom). How about unstant mashed potatoes? boy was i happy once i could have warm soothing stuff.

No real answer to the question. Sorry I have no clue. But I know by the end of the 1st week I was all jello'd out!

Try chicken broth. For the 6 week pre-op diet it was either chocolate or vanilla all day, everyday, and by post -op I was sweeted out! My nightly chicken broth was my salvation.

This was something that disturbed me too, I was so sick of sweet tasting stuff, but clear chicken or veggie, or beef broth is good, I also took the packets out of Top Ramen and just heated them up in water, no noodles.

I agree ~ initially I tried to swear off all sweets but soon realized that wasnt realistic. I agree that I was trying to figure out real food items that werent sweet, but savory! It gets easier real soon ~ hang in there!

Add Cream of Wheat or Malt-o-Meal as soon as you have permission. They are really good comfort foods that just happen to have some nutritional value, too. Cream of Wheat made the puree/soft food stage a whole lot easier for me. Oatmeal is good too, but has more substance to it.

You may like V8. I was never much into that before surgery, but just like you - got sick of having all that 'sweet' tasting stuff - the V8 tasted pretty darn good right about that time. It's not much for protein, like the beef and chicken broth are, but it was a nice little change, couple ounces here and there and good for you.
