Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

This happened to me about a month ago...the day I lost my job....I was walking in to the house...next thing I know, I woke up on the laundry room floor with a gash in my head....it's only happened once, but I know it was low blood sugar....I hadn't eaten all day....

I have had a few episodes like that since my surgery. My surgeon said it was because my diabetes is gone now but I was still taking the diabetes medicine. He has told me to start cutting out the diabetes meds one at a time. It has helped.

Default Can relate!

I know the feeling all too well. I have aquired something called hypoglycemic insulinemic post-bypass syndrome. I think that is what the dietician told me. Scientific names. lol It is something different than just plain ol' low blood sugar from not eating, but its end result is basically the same. I was driving home one day after my wife had surgery last August...by myself, thank God, and when I did come to, I was on the other side of the highway and the a** end of the van hitting the gravel before going down the embankment and into the wilderness. Talk about scary. All I remember repeatedly saying was "OMG! OMG! OMG!" I can chuckle just a bit about it now, but at the time, it was very much not a laughing matter. Yes, I did total our van that we just had gotten 3 moths prior. I have to be very careful these days with what I put in my mouth. High carb foods will do it to me everytime. I will bottom out before having symptoms, with readings in the low 30's. Now that I know the symptoms better, and what to look for, I can usually catch it when it is in the upper 50 range. None the less, it is still scary for anyone that experiences this. Keep an eye on what and how often you are eating poopoo. It sure has helped me. mike

I hope that doesn't happen again! What did you eat before it happened, was it too high in carbs and then maybe you bottomed out after? Too high in carbs now may be way different than too high in carbs before surgery.
