I am almost 9 weeks out and have lost 40lbs. Woohoo! Everything has been texted book so far. My problem now is that I seem to be freezing all the time, especially my hands. My finger tips are literally a pink/redish color. I am sitting here at work and want to put my heater on. Anyone else have this issue? Is it even an issue with the weight loss? Am I deficient of something?

My co-workers think I am nuts...that's only part true!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I haven't had the surgery yet, but I remember reading threads about everyone saying how cold they are. You are losing your insulation and your body hasn't learned to regulate itself at a "normal" weight. I'm sure others will post about their experiences. Stay warm!!!!

Yep most of us have that after surgery. I was always hot before, now I am always cold. My DH will be sweating with the A/C on and I am under a blanket. Get used to it!

I am sitting here at my desk with a jacket on right now (it's 90 degrees outside). I am constantly cold. My doc told me to get used to it, it is very common after surgery. I am dreading the winters!

I used to sweat like crazy with the least provocation. Now I have a great tolerance for the heat. I'll be sitting at my computer upstairs and my wife comes up and complains of how hot it is. I tell her I'm comfortable, then look at the thermometer and it's 85! She sleeps on top of the covers under the fan, and I wake up freezing by 2-3 AM and crawl under the covers!

No more polar bear insulation! The blubber is gone!! I'm loving working outside this summer, and don't really sweat much, especially compared to where I've come from.

Looks like this is a sign of progress for you!

I know getting cold can be normal but you may still want to check with your Dr.- yours seems a little extreme with the hands. Never hurts to check even though it's probably just your body reacting to less insulation!

It sounds like you may have Raynaud's. It's not serious, but you have to be real careful in the winter because you can get frost bite REAL easy. As for the rest of your body being cold, that seems to be the norm for us post-ops! You can find lots of old posts on this because we all complain about freezing to death in the winter!

Yep...cold all the time. I still have a jacket in my truck in the middle of summer in FLORIDA!
I have the biggest problem with my toes staying cold...yes I wear flip flops all the time. LOLOLOL But when they get cold they HURT. I wear open toe as much as possible! I have this "thing" with my feet being open. It is almost like a phobia and I can not get my shoes off fast enough. Everytime I go in the hospital for something, they have to put across my chart "Nothing on the feet" or I will wake up and freak out to get my feet out.

Before surgery I was always so hot and my feet and hands were always hot to the touch. My hubby cannot get over how cold my hands and feet are now to the touch. I would always sweat at the temperatures that are now and I hardly ever sweat now and my family has really noticed that I do not sweat anymore. On the way home from town yesterday I told my hubby I am going to bring my winter coat along on the pickup becasue he has it so cold in the pickup. I can turn my temperature up on my side but when I am not looking he turns it down. Now before surgery I was the one that had to have it so cold becasue I was always the one that was hot then. I turn off the air conditioner in the house and he turns it on when he comes in the house and complains why it is so hot in the house. Last year I had it so cold in the house that he would turn it off when he came in the house.
