Does anyone know what amount of carbs, calories and protein we are supposed to have daily when we get on regular food? I would really appreciate any thoughts.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I would not try to focus on the carbs just yet...keep them last on your list! LOLOL
I am thinking about 800 calories and 80 grams of protein. Doc will be the one to give you the best advice! I am sure that there are several threads on here too from when we were all newbies. Good luck!

Terry, I know this sounds crazy, but there are still times that I wonder if I have any clue about what I'm doing.

It does not sound crazy at all. I am confused a lot of times and at times it seems like I don't know what I am doing. I feel like I eat a lot but when I write it down, it does not seem like so much. That's why I am thinking about counting calories, carbs, fat, protein and sugar.

I understand what you mean. The only things I try to watch are calories, fats, carbs, and protein. I try to get in 600-800 cal., not more than 30 fat grams, not more than 45 carbs, and at least 70 grams of protein a day.

Like Kim said, hopefully Doc will be on in a little while with the "right" answer.

THANKS, Terry. I needed to hear that today more than anything. For some reason, I'm having a really bummed out day.

Anyway, thanks again, and I can promise you that I am going to get there one day, no matter how long it takes me.

I don't like to KNOWINGLY consume more than 20-50 carbs at a sitting, and the 50 is when I have a piece of fruit with my meal. When I am honest with dailyplate.com, it comes out to about 1200 calories/day (almost 3 months post-op)...sometimes it is 900...sometimes 1400.

I take in a MINIMUM of 70 gms protein. I fight daily to get all that in. Nutritional classes called for 70. Surgeon's nut said 80-100, but I just can't get in much over 80 if I really REALLY struggle.

I guess I do it different, I concentrate on the protein and carbs. I try to get 60 to 80 proteins in a day and vary with my carbs from 40 to 70 or so on some days and as far as the fats go I do not worry about them, I try to eat lean meats and stay away from fatty stuff. So when I eat carb free cream it is not to often and I also do the real butter and very little of the marg. I do alot of the spray marg. So far this is working for me.

Kitty, so you don't watch your calories either? I'm not saying that's a bad thing for you. I'm just saying that you have done such a great job.
