Default Liquid Tylenol question

I am 6 days post-op and took some liquid Tylenol and a 2 hour nap. When I woke up (sat up) my pouch made some gurgling & sloshing sounds. I ran to the bathroom and had diarrhea (sorry TMI).

My question is did I dump? Or is it something else being I am early out? Is liquid Tylenol okay to take? I thought it was.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Double check with your surgeon, but mine said it was okay. Very early on (it's still early on for me), my pouch always made the most horrible sounds when I would put something in it especially first thing in the morning. I even nicknamed my pouch the alien, and when the sounds started i knew the "alien" was awake. Fortunately, it settled down. As for the diarrhea, it may be from the antibiotics you were on when you were in the hospital. Keep on top of it, if it keeps happening, and remember to stay well-hydrated.

My surgeon recommend liquid Tylenol for me, and I remember the same symptoms you're having when I took it a week or so after surgery. Now, no problems with it. Feel better!

it depends. there is one out there called rapid blast or something that has sugar in it. it is red and syrupy and everytime i take it i have to lay down. its kind of like a catch 22. yeah it takes the pain away but it puts you in a coma too!

call your doc and make sure its ok to continue taking the one you are. there are different kinds. the childrens one works on me and it doesnt make me sleepy.

I was given approval for any form of tylenol. But as early out as you are, didn't your doc give you something with a little more kick to it, if you know what I mean?

When I was weaning off the nortab, I sucked on tylenol junior meltaway tabs. I remember knowing it was in my stomach...I could only do one at a time...two was too much to eat at a time!

Diarrhea is common early on. I don't remember what to do about it, but it was addressed in my post op paperwork. My problem was quite the opposite.

Kenya~ yes it was the Rapid Blast.

Judy~ Yes I have vicodin but he said I could have Tylenol instead. This was my first try with the Tylenol as I don't need something as strong as Vicodin.

I am taking liquid loratab every 4 hours. Sometimes I can go longer but start to feel bad and my blood pressure goes up when that happens. I can go all night w/o though. I had by first bowl sat. then got runny, so maybe its normal since we had surgery same day. When my pain med runs out, I seem to feel my stomach growl or something that does not feel good. Plus mentally I get so uptight and stressed. I feel so much better taking them every 4 hrs right now but worry when I should be able to stop taking them?? The doc gave me enough for 2 weeks worth. Its so nice that the liquid seems to kick in immediately. I can get out of bed in the mornings feeling pain and a sick feeling and once I drink the pain med I'm up and going. Kinda scary.

Are you still on clear liquids? I go back for checkup on Thursday but I seem to only like jello and crytal light right now. Broth started making me sick with aftertaste. I want to move onto the next stage so bad!!!! Thursday seems so far!

Keep me updated. Thanks.

Liquid meds can have sugar in it, and that can make you dump. Though Tylenol is OK for posties, you may not be able to tolerate it due to what it contains to make 'em palatable, other than the actual chemo that does the job.
Tell your surgeon what happened and see what he says.
(((((HUGS)))) Hope you are feeling better by now.

I take the Rapid Blast as well and a longgggg nap right afterwards! My hubby tried it once and it knocked him out as well! I didnt have any trouble from the sugar content though. WOW!
