Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I've never heard that. I use whey protein (that's what the Nectar is) every morning and I'm still losing weight. What kind did they recommend to her?

I've never heard of that either. Please let us know if your doctor suggests that they are bad for you.

Sounds like somebody's trying to sell her something else...... Whey is supposed to be easier to digest ~~~ besides it's a matter of calories, not what type of protein you eat.

I agree that they have an agenda in telling her that. I have used whey protein in the past when I was a size 6!! It does not cause weight gain. Only if you drink too much and lift weights, then you may gain muscle. That is crazy to tell her that!!

Hard core body builders use whey protein as part of their regimen to bulk up and gain weight in targeted areas. This may be what she's thinking of. Whey is a tool. It has more uses than body building. I'd go with what the nuts advise. Anyone heard them give a professional opinion against using this kind of protein? Remember, the word that applies to each of us is what comes from our own surgeons.

The whey gainer protein for body builders are not low carb, one.
I have used designer whey forever, it's the only one I can tolerate.

I had a friend who had the surgery here in OKC and she gave me some of the samples of their stuff from their office that they sell to all their posties...made me dump like crazy and vomit.

Go figure.

Whey protein, if it's low carb, no sugars, fructose, etc is a great protein.

There are whey protein supplements for body builders that are way high in carbs, and yeah, you would gain weight, or WORSE, get carb cravings, or WORSE YET, dump.

My health food store guy is really good at pointing me to the low carb selections for the WLSers.

The calories in our shakes have to be considered in our calorie totals, especially toward the end of our weight loss journey to maintainence.
