| Bariatric Bracelet
I've heard that since I have had Gastric Bypass surgery I should get a bracelet so that if any thing (god forbid) should happen to me and I cant speak for myself that EMT's or Doctors will know I have had surgery kind of like a bracelet for a diabetic person, any way has anyone heard this and if so where I can get one? And do I need one? And another question does anyones tailbone now hurt? I have a hard time sitting in my chair watching TV or using my laptop, it has only been hurting the last few days so I'm not sure if this is normal or not. trying to watch the Olympic's just hurts somenights just wondered. THANKS Eileen

Aha. Welcome to the World of the Lost Butt Cushions.
Quite normal
As for bracelets, you are talking about the med alert bracelets, yes, it's recommended that you wear one. There are several threads on this.

Excellent idea. I only take mine off to scrub into surgeries at work and go through the metal detector when I got see my husband. They are an excellent idea. Just a thought, though, about the design. I picked a very plain looking one because my thought was that if I get one that's too pretty and doesn't 'look' like a medical alert bracelet, if the tag is flipped the wrong way in an emergency situation, EMS or a doctor might think it's just a regular bracelet and not flip it over to look for a tag. Mine is so plain, it HAS to be an alert bracelt, so they would flip it over if needed. Great question and great idea!
Oh, and yes, I've painfully discovered my tail bone as well!

I got mine at a local drug store and I have a medic symbol on front and then it says on the back side Gastric bypass, my name and phone number. I had a choice of a braclet or necklace, I decided I wanted a necklace the braclet showed to much on my wrist and I did not want anybody and everybody to see that I had a gastric bypass so I choose the necklace which I can have under my tops I have on. I Do not wear low cut tops so this will work for me real good. I got my necklace for 19 dollors the braclet was 16 dollors and the inscription was put on free.

I was able to speak in the hospital last week, and because of the surgery becoming more commonplace, they are well aware of the NO TUBE issue. Apparently, I wasn't the only gastric patient they saw last week...apparently, they see them frequently. HOWEVER, the bracelets are a fantastic idea if you get taken in and cannot speak for yourself or have someone there to speak for you!
The tailbone issue, sorry to say, does not get better....mine is killing me RIGHT NOW!!!
