Default has anyone had

Has anyone had issues with having their TOM? I have called nurse and she said OB and I did that and they can not find any reason for this. I have had it straight since 05/29/08. I even had an ultrasound and it turned up nothing. They are now talking about putting me on estrogen. Any ideas.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

The only thing I can come up with is during the rapid weight loss period your hormones are going crazy. Hormones are stored in fat cells and since you are losing your fat they are flinging merrily through your system. There have been people who thought they were through the change only to have it come back after surgery because of the "Happy Hormones"

Doc can explain this much better and scientifically than I. But this is just MHO.

Wacky, wacky hormones.
It's essentially as Jeanne explained.
Before they put you on estrogen, how is your estrogen level right now, I expect they checked that since I gather you've had a batter of exams. During the rapid weight loss period, it's possible that estrogen may not make a dent. Someone needed an abberation to correct the overflow.
Hope it gets under control soon.

he said all looks good, but he said this is only thing that he thinks might work. Is there any weird reactions for weight loss when on the estrogen? He wants to try a low dose for 21 days.

Because of the extra estrogen being released by your melting fatty cells, estrogen as medication may have no effect. It's a fact that hormonal BC doesn't work while you are in the rapid losing phase, so estrogen may not be able to control your bleeding. D/C (removing the soft bleeding tissue of the womb) might be the only method that works. Just my 2 cents here, from what I know of the experiences of other members.
If your gyno is not familiar with weight loss surgery patients, it might take him time to figure out what's best. If he's familiar with WLS and has other patients, then, he'd know what he's doing, so that should be fine.

I have had some issues. After loosing a bunch of weight each TOM got heavier and heavier and they said that it could be due to loosing so much weight and estrogen being stored in the fat cells and etc...But I havnet lost much since 3 or 4 months ago and now it was really getting bad. So they did the ultra sound and found that the linning was unusally thick. sothen they sent me in and I just had last week a procedure called an endo biopsy. They just called me today and it came out ok. Which is good news. But for now they have put me on progesterone to see if that will help lessen the bleeding. so yes I have had issues since sugery.

I was on YAZ birth control pills during my rapid weight loss to help reduce my TOM symptoms and I had a ton of break through bleeding. I went off of it and am now using Nuva ring to try to control my periods.

I have noticed that the total number of days I stay on my period is twice as long compared to before surgery. Good luck with figuring out what they can do to help you.
