Hey computer wizards up there,
Mommy is worried about me calling her everyday when I'm at Leeds, so hubby suggested that we buy the XPS Dell laptop with a built in camera in it, now I'm concerned with the software or the application that allows both ends from video chatting or conferencing.
Any suggestions?
When I was at CO. I used to either Net2phone or msn message them but the connection was not that good. I hope with the wireless technology now the call will be better

I have a web cam and i just hook it up thru yahoo instant messenger.
MY kids grandparents are out in california and im NY opposite ends of the US so this helped see them alot when they werent able to due to distance.
EVEN MSN instant messenger has pretty good software for web cams

I am planning on trying to use yahoo im for when hubby deploys. I have some friends that use webcams when they talk to me, but I don't have one yet. There is a set of two webcams with headsets included for only about $35 at Walmart right now and we will probably use them.

WEB camming will be good for you and hubby when he deploys.
I know the cam i have is a cheap one from BEST BUYS and works
fine.

Right now we are kinda waiting to hear from his friend that should be coming home from Iraq to see what the total situation is regarding online availability for chatting. We have heard different things from other people there; some saying that you can't have yahoo im if you are using the internet connection available from the government, even if it is your own personal computer...so we will see.

....first...I must say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new Dell laptop. I only wish I would've said yes to the webcam!! (I didn't....)
Since then....I've gone out and purchased a webcam...and plan on using it with yahoo or msn messenger! I've practiced on one of my friends webcam back in TX and that is what sold me on getting one. Especially being sooo far from our very close friends and family!!
I'd say GO FOR IT!!! then...we'll get to see and talk to one another....SOOOO FUN sista friend!! | |

PERHAPS they are cracking down
after that news storey on the person
over in Iraq in militiary who was flirting
and proposed to multiple women online.
Was a big storey and i think they guy
was already married too.
PERHAPS that made them crack down.
BUT i have come accross in chat a few
that say there are serving in Iraq, but who
knows!
