I chew sugarless gum all the time...not supposed to in case its swallowed..but sometimes it keeps me from eating.

We are NOT supposed to chew gum. If it were swallowed it can cause blockage and possibly need surgery.

I also was told by my NUT. that chewing gum can cause excess air in some cases,prob. in the way one chews it, so we were told no gum anymore. Also, u dont want to swallow it, that would not be to good. Kathy

I keep a pack in my purse, on the kitchen counter, in my vehicle and at my desk. I am and have always been a gum chewer. I have never ion my life swallowed it from what I can remember, so I just continue. I have never had a problem, but my surgeon did say that it was a NO NO! LOLOLOL
And I complain about my KIDS not listening!

I have to admit i chew it a lot. My surgeon gave the swallowing air reason for not chewing it, never said anything about swallowing it, but i have never swallowed my gum, guess it could happen???
