Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Have you asked your surgeon?

When I signed my consent, it included the possibility of open surgery. Since you have had your prior surgery "below the waist", my guess is the RNY will be able to be done lap.

My surgeon told me that is was a possibility that she might have to do open because I had so much scar tissure from a previous surgery. But to my delight, she was able to do it laproscopic. But don't panic. Your surgeon will do what is best for you. A girl I know just had an open RNY a few weeks ago, and she is doing great. She went back to work last week, and she had surgery 5 weeks ago. Good luch with whatever happens.

You'll have to discuss this with your surgeon. However, with all lap surgeries, there is no guarantee that it can be completed by lap, whether you had prior surgery or not, so it's standard to have the patient sign a release to go open should anything happen during the surgery that neccessitates changing to open.
